Sweet 16: Lady Bears vs. South Carolina Preview and Game Thread

The Baylor Lady Bears square off in the Sweet 16 against South Carolina. This will be the second time to tangle as the Lady Bears defeated South Carolina in Columbia by 25 points. Both teams have improved since December and this should be a great game to watch with two extremely competitive former players heading both programs.

Protect the ball

Stop transition offense

Pound the paint, but take the mid-range jumper if USC goes to zone

Stay out of foul trouble

Keep USC guards in front of defense

If this lead holds up and DIDI ends with 28 or 30, then all other WBB coaches are going to get VERY nervous. They know Brown/ Cox/ Jackson /Landrum will get their points, but if they have to also to guard Richards, they will create nightmares.

Thought refs called too many fouls on us in paint that were not, and SC made too many long shots, luckily we stayed the course, though outscored in 2nd half by one point, 48 hours Kim to win vs Iowa, let's do it!

Loved Kim's quote when asked at the half if she would rest her starters.
"This is the NCAA playoffs. I play to win."

Don't make too much about the "comeback" by SC late in the game. When you are up by 30, it's hard to stay focused. The Lady Bears got it together and still won by 20+ points.

I'm liking what I saw from Didi and Chloe.
