Once she gets mobility and confidence in her knee she's going to be a terror from 3 and in the paint.

In early non-conference play, wasn't Egbo a strong defender? She did seem to be a foul magnet, as I remember. I really want to see DeCosta play more--she has some great moves and speed! She is one I fear might want more playing time than offered and would consider transferring. Would hate to lose her!
From what I know about her values, i doubt this will be a problem. She has designs on playing professionally and I believe she realizes that playing on the perimeter would be her best position at the next level. Now she could have gotten more playing time not making that transition this last year. But transitioning and getting experience on the perimeter is more important than playing time at present. Both her, her family and her advisors have their heads and straight priorities straight. Except for mitigating circumstances that transition was supposed to have been started already in high school.

Baylor is the perfect situation for her in that respect. On a different team that was not loaded in the post, she would have been relegated to playing there just because she can rebound and defend that position. You have to give Kim some serious props to recognize DeCosta's real potential lies on the perimeter and for facilitating that transition. We should all remember that she represented her team in the skills challenge at the Worlds 3x3 games. That was on a team that had two McDonald AA guards on it. One of them was Ucon's Williams.
