Find out who had big performances, who slumped, and what teams made a big move in the power rankings as Grayson Grundhoefer wraps up all the Big 12 action.

Oklahoma blew by Texas Tech 55-16

What went wrong?

Tech - The passing game was dreadful as the quarterbacks went 12-of-26 for only 122 yards.

OU - The only bad stats that OU had this week was that they were 3-for-9 on 3rd down and had nine penalties for 114 yards, other than that they were sensational.

What went right?

Tech - The Red Raiders got a run game going as they had 192 yards and averaged 5.2 yards per carry.

OU - The offense churned out 644 total yards, it was a thing of beauty as they just drove up and down the field.

Key Stats

*OU QB Jalen Hurts finished 17-of-24 for 415 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 70 yards and another touchdown. He also decided to go to the weight room and workout after the game because he had so much energy left.

*Tech QB Jackson Tyner got the start. He was 1-of-5 for 2 yards before he got pulled.

*Tech was 1-for-14 on 3rd down.

Oklahoma State shut down Kansas State 26-13

What went wrong?

OSU - The pass offense really struggled in this one as they only had 153 yards passing and two interceptions.

KSU - QB Skylar Thompson finished 11-of-23 for 118 yards. He also averaged a dreadful 5.1 yards per completion.

What went right?

OSU - The superstars continue to thrive. Running back Chubba Hubbard had 25 carries for 296 yards and a touchdown while also adding two catches. Wide receiver Tylan Wallace had eight catches for 145 yards (the team only had 153 passing yards total). Coach Gundy continues to heavily utilize his best players.

KSU - The defense forced two interceptions and held the Cowboys to just 153 yards through the air.

Key Stats

*Kansas State ran the ball 32 times for just 126 yards against a pretty average Cowboys run defense.

*The Wildcats finished with just 244 total yards and were 1-for-13 on 3rd down. The Cowboys had been giving up over 400 yards per game coming into this one.

*Cowboys RS-Freshman QB Spencer Sanders was not very good in this one. He finished 16-of-25 for 153 yards and one touchdown, he also had 52 yards rushing and two interceptions.

TCU destroyed Kansas 51-14

What went wrong?

TCU - The only stat that was bad for the Horned Frogs was the 10 penalties for 95 yards.

KU - Everything was bad for Kansas in this one as they only had 159 yards of total offense, gave up 625 yards on defense, and gave up a special teams touchdown. It was awful.

What went right?

TCU - The entire offense had a “get right” game as TCU racked up 625 yards of total offense and were completely balanced, the run game had 319 yards and the pass game had 306.

KU - Zero turnovers and only two penalties so they played a pretty clean game. lol

Key Stats

*TCU held the ball for nearly 40 minutes in this game, a big part of that was the 14-for-19 conversion rate on 3rd down.

*Kansas QB Carter Stanley was 12-of-29 for 84 yards and a touchdown. He had a QBR of 8.1 out of 100.

*TCU freshman QB Max Duggan was 8-of-11 for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Baylor squeaked by Iowa State 23-21

What went wrong?

BU - The Bears run game was not very good either as Baylor ended up with 104 yards rushing while averaging just 3.1 yards per carry.

ISU - The run game and losing the turnover battle. Iowa State ended up with only 63 yards rushing and the Cyclones had two turnovers compared to none by Baylor.

What went right?

BU - The defense held Iowa State scoreless for three quarters of this football game and looked dominant. Linebacker Clay Johnston ended up with 13 tackles, a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss.

ISU - QB Brock Purdy finished 27-of-45 for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He made some magic even when it appeared nothing was there and he almost got the Cyclones an epic comeback win.

Key Stats

*Baylor’s duo at wide receiver, Denzel Mims and Tyquan Thornton, finished with 17 catches for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

*Both teams got after the quarterback. Baylor finished with three sacks and seven QB hurries. Iowa State ended up with three sacks and five QB hurries.

* Baylor QB Charlie Brewer was 26-of-45 for 307 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 29 yards on the ground.

Power Rankings

1. Oklahoma - The blow outs keep happening for the Sooners as they annihilated Texas Tech this week. Now they get to go to Lawrence and hang 50 on the Jayhawks. They have looked the most impressive up to this point in the season and everyone that said they weren’t going to be able to run the ball or that Hurts can’t throw the ball have been a tad off so far.

2. Texas - Bye week but they still have some nice challenges on the resume. The Longhorns head to West Virginia this weekend for a nice road test.

3. Oklahoma State - OSU got a huge rebound win over Kansas State. The game ended up closer than it should have been as the Cowboys really dominated that game.

4. Baylor - Baylor got a home win over Iowa State which was impressive but it could have been more impressive if the team had played better in the 4th quarter. The teams ahead of them have either looked better or are more battle tested at the moment but the Bears have a big opportunity to move up with a win on the road in Manhattan.

5. Iowa State - The Cyclones offense was completely shut down by Baylor for three quarters but they were able to rally and make the game an extremely close one. Iowa State has now lost two games by a combined total of three points. They need to start winning some of those close ones if they don’t want to fall down the standings.

6. Kansas State - The Wildcats proved me right by losing to Oklahoma State by double digits this week. They still have inconsistent quarterback play and the fact that they could not run the ball on the Cowboys is concerning. They will get a big opportunity at home to show improvement against Baylor.

7. TCU - The Horned Frogs got revenge on Kansas as they blew them out. The quarterback play looked improved but again that was at home against Kansas. TCU stays in this spot for now but have a chance to move up if they go to Ames and get a win.

8. West Virginia - A bye week and the two teams behind them getting blown out keeps the Mountaineers in the same spot. They get Texas at home next week and will have a great chance to move up with a win.

9. Texas Tech - The Red Raiders were a disaster on Saturday as Oklahoma did just about whatever they wanted on the offensive side of the ball. Tech’s inconsistent quarterback play will be a problem with Bowman out especially if the defense plays like they did this week.

10. Kansas - The Jayhawks got smashed by a mediocre TCU offense. This was a miserable effort and now they get to face Oklahoma…..yikes.
