On the learning experience of the game:
“The good thing is, I know we can get better in some areas in the game we weren’t very good. Offensive rebounding, they kicked our butt, but I thought other than that, really proud of our team’s effort.”

On the faster pace of the game:
“The crowd deserves a lot of credit for that, because our guys are going to play hard but it’s easier to play when you’ve got a packed house cheering you on.”

On the team's ball movement:

“17 to 10 [assists] is a great ratio. Some of those at the end of the game, we were in single digits which what we like. Very unselfish play in the second half that allowed us to shoot 55 percent.”

On the impact of Jo Lual-Acuil and Johnathan Motley as the two bigs:
“Us short guys like tall guys around us. Obviously, they do a great job defending the rim. I thought they did alter several shots at the rim and blocked some. At the end of the day when you know that you have that behind you, it allows the guards to pressure the ball a little more.”

On if the team may be peaking too early:
“The good thing in the Big 12 is you have a lot of top ten opportunities later in the year. As far as, I mean coaches worry about everything. So of course. We know it’s a race at the end of the year. You look at the last two years, one of the things I’m most proud about is we haven’t had a bad loss. But we’ve lost in the tournament the first game. So every day’s a new day. You gotta be ready to go on that day.”
