Baylor, Boise State to face off in Cactus Bowl on Dec. 27
WACO, Texas — The Baylor Bears (6-6) have been selected to face the Boise State Broncos (10-2) in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9:15 pm CT in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field.
The selection to a bowl game is Baylor's seventh-consecutive invitation dating back to the 2010 season. Baylor last traveled to Arizona to play in the Fiesta Bowl following their first Big 12 Championship following the 2013 season.
Boise State opened the season with a perfect 7-0 record but struggled to finish the season, finished their final five games with a 3-2 record including losses to Wyoming (8-5) and Air Force (9-3). Highlight their season were wins over Power Five opponents Washington State (8-4) and Oregon State (4-8) as well as a victory over BYU (8-5).
Similarly to Boise State's start to the season, Baylor opened the campaign with a 6-0 record only to drop their final six of the season. Baylor's season was highlighted by a victory over Oklahoma State (9-3).
Baylor has compiled a 3-4 record in bowl games dating back to 2010 including a win against North Carolina in the Russell Athletic Bowl last season.
