Former Baylor player Shawn Bell is set to join Matt Rhule's coaching staff at Baylor, SicEm365 has learned. Bell will arrive at Baylor after being the head coach at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas for a single season.

In seven seasons as a high school head coach, Bell accumulated a 55-28 record, including most recently 11-1 season at Cedar Ridge that was highlighted by a perfect 10-0 regular season and district championship.

Prior to his time at Cedar Ridge, Bell was the head coach at Magnolia West High School. He has also spent time at Clifton, China Spring and Round Rock, where he was an assistant at Stony Point High School.

The inclusion of Bell on Baylor's staff makes him the second Texas High School Football coach to be added to the staff in recent days.

Rhule previously added former San Antonio Reagan head coach David Wetzel. The connections to the high school ranks in Texas were important for Rhule who was coming to Baylor without any connections to the state.

For the Bears from 2002-2006, Bell threw for 5,666 yards and 38 touchdowns as the starting quarterback. Those totals for Bell each rank No. 5 in Baylor's career totals.
