The Baylor Bears (11-1) have moved to No. 7  in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings following the final week of the 2019 regular season, a jump up from their No. 9 ranking a week ago. The Bears defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 61-6 to close the season and reach 11 wins for the third time since 2013.

Though the Bears were already locked into the Big 12 Championship prior to the game against the Jayhawks, the victory kept playoff hopes alive for the Bears as they are set to face fellow top-10 opponent Oklahoma (11-1) in the contest on Saturday with a chance to boost their resume.

The game against the Sooners will kick off at 11 a.m. CT at AT&T in a game that will be aired live nationally on ABC.

Logic says a team who's only loss was to a top 10 team should out rank a team who's only loss was t a Top 25 team. Unfortunately the committee doesn't use logic, they use politics!

Think we may also need a Utah loss.

I'll preface this with, LSU stomping Georgia.

It sucks to be Utah, because even if they beat Oregon, the winner of our game will jump them next week. Because they will not have a quality win.

Talking heads were saying Utah had a harder OOC schedule. They played N. Illinois and Boise St.

Bears and OU both had a harder conference schedule than Utah.

Talking heads are sadly correct on this matter. Boise St. is considered the most successful "group of 5" football program since the invention of the term "group of 5" Furthermore, the Utes play BYU every year. BYU has victories over bowl bound Tennessee, USC and aforementioned BYU.

Rice, SFA and UTSA turned out to be horrible this year.

All of the non-con, etc. has already been taken into account. What hasn't been considered yet:

A. After this weekend, if Utah wins, they will have a win over #14.

B. If OU wins, they will have a win over #7.

C. If Baylor wins, they will have a win over #6.

B or C will trump A and will vault them over Utah, in the final rankings.

FYI: Utah did not play Boise State. They played Idaho State who finished 3-9.

Still, I'm ok with them saying Utah's OOC is better because they did play BYU on the road, who finished 7-5.

But, as others have said, we played a much tougher conference slate, have more quality wins and our loss is much better.

At the end of the day, the CFP committee wants $$$ not the 4 best teams.
