It was a very weak opponent but someone said it best in the GDT thread last night, we did what you would expect a #4 team in the nation to do to a much lesser opponent.
And something that's kind of scary, we didn't even have Terry Maston last night. So we still have yet to see our entire team at full strength.
I am curious as to what that means for Omot's playing time. I'd assume he would play more SF because last night it looked like he played all his minutes at the 4.
I can only hope, selfishly, that Motley stays, because next year we only lose Wainwright (a big loss that is), and if we somehow pull a rabbit out of the hat and land Duval, then my god we are going to be ridiculous.
Motley has rapidly improved every year, and this year looks to be a surefire first round pick. But there are a few things he can improve which I think can vault him to a lottery lock for 2018.
-Post defense. Below average, but last night he looked really lost there.
-Jumpshot. As a 4 in the NBA, you HAVE to have a jumper. He has one, but we need to see far more out of that. If he can improve on that and show that his 3 point shot is going to improve, then he's a top 14 pick after his senior year imo.
I still think Taurean Prince is going to be a very solid role player in this league (think DeMarre Carroll), but I think Motley has potential of a very good starter somewhere.
