Matt Rhule Quote of the Week...

“I don’t, I think you probably know me well enough to know I don’t say those things. We haven’t had a lot of success when we’ve talked about ‘hey if we do this we get this’, last year I did that and we played really tight against Iowa State and TCU so we play way better when it’s been like let’s just go play and here’s what’s special about our players, I think we have, it’s the most competitive group of young people I’ve ever been around, I’ll probably start getting a bunch of calls from former players now but, saying what about me coach but, literally if at the end of a practice I said ‘I’m not sure who’s faster Tyquan [Thornton] or Boogie [Barnes], they would literally race for an hour but then [Josh] Fleeks would say ‘no I’m faster’ and then [Jackson] Gleeson would say ‘wait a minute, I ran this and I’, they would be out there racing for like an hour, Bravvion [Roy] would probably say ‘I’m the fastest guy over 300’, it’s amazing the competitive nature of our guys so what I found works with our players is just to say hey let’s go compete, to go to Kansas and play in that weather and there weren’t very many people in the stands, it was less people maybe than Rice, just cause of Thanksgiving, I’m not saying that in a disrespectful way, and our guys went out and competed and in the fourth quarter that defense wanted a fourth quarter shutout, J Will [Jordan Williams] was screaming at the guys that were out there playing and we finally stopped them at the two and got the fourth quarter shutout, just a competitive group so to me when I start talking about CFP, it becomes a whole bunch of stuff, when I say let’s go play, man, we have a special group of kids when we do that.”

** Matchup advantage decided by higher ranking between offensive and defensive statistical categories from Big 12 play only.

Look at the bright side. Baylor now has a total clusterfeck of a QB controversy to look forward to!

Told you Arnold should have fair caught that ball. We could have run offense. I NEVER thought we'd survive OT. Just being real here. Great season. OU to OT. Not bad at all. No Brewer...no offense except for 3 plays. Defense had to be ggassed again although not as much. No way they let them run up the middle like that normally.

Hell of an effort without Brewer. We're going to get there.

You have to wonder what the outcome would've been if we had subbed Zeno for CB

Agreed No quite in this team at all. Played hard til the it was over. Win the bowl game. Find a QB who and and OLine that can plkay proper technique and we are good. I have notthing to complain about with the D..

My exact thoughts.. my heart sank when I realized they weren't going to try and go for the win at the end of the 4th.
OU in OT is not Tech or TCU..

Very true. I think everybody on here was calling for Zeno to start the 2nd half.

We would not have won several of our games without Brewer

Rhule loves close games and it bit him. Shoulda thrown down field early in the game. We have the reviewers for that. At least we'll get a decent bowl game.

Sugar Bowl against Alabama would be a nice consolation prize.

Cotton Bowl against a Group of 5 team would suck.

I wish we were playing against OUs third string QB.. oh well, such is football.
Wonder what one year QB they'll rent for next year?

Disappointed at the moment but still a great season. Need for LSU to come through so we can go to the sugar bowl.

Agreed. If we were to get that match up and win against Bama, that would still be great.

Played em tough and forced overtime. Still proud of this team. If Platt breaks that long pass, we win. I thought he was going to outrun that db

Everyone counting their chickens before they're hatched. We may be in the Alamo Bowl while OU plays in the Sugar. Very few thought we had a chance in this game, just like very few think UGA has a shot in the SEC game. May get fooled!
LSU will win.

This is why I wanted to win this game even if we did not make the CFP. I don't want to play a group of 5 team but would not be surprised now...in the same friggin stadium of which I have nightmares about our lack of discipline in the last 5 minutes vs. MSU.

Gerry accounted for himself very well. I'm proud of how he played. That's a tough spot to be place in, yet the game did not seem too big for him. The offense moved better with him at QB. Rhule was also right in making a risky choice to go to Zeno, and he was great. Baylor played as well as they could. OU was just a little bit better, even though I wish it had been settled with real football instead of OT.

Obviously a joke, but I really hope he stays on. Zeno will beat him out, but I bet he would make a great running back if he's not dead set on playing QB.

Well I really do not know who to be for with LSU and Ga now. I guess LSU for the big12 sake plus I like LSU. They are my second fave. I'd like to see LSU win it all now.

I wanted to win because conference championships should matter, even though the NCAA doesn't really agree so much.

Hats off to the student athletes that almost overcame pathetic play calling and clueless coaching.

Charlie Brewer deserves a lot of credit -he got us here. Zeno looks like the future.

Here is hoping Rhule goes to the Cowboys, so we can get a real one.

I like that it took overtime to determine the winner today. Our defense did a pretty good job limiting yards on the ground, but the Sooners did a much better job limiting our ground game.

To end our conference season at 11-2 and losing ONLY to Oklahoma each time by a single score is nothing to be ashamed of.

Thank you to Coach Rhule and every member of the coaching staff and these great Baylor athletes for bringing us such a great season. Well done all!!!

I'm hoping for a Big Sugar Bowl win or a Big Alamo Bowl win to finish out our season.

Sic'em Bears.

Very true but at the same time we may have been up by more with another QB in. We will never know because CB was our guy this year.

Which is a big reason college OT is terrible, because it takes so much of the game out of the game.

I mean it's an obvious and fair question. As in, legitimately, have you never watched a college football overtime before?
