The Baylor Bears (11-1) will face off with the Oklahoma Sooners (11-1) in the 2019 Big 12 Championship inside AT&T Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The rematch of a thrilling Nov. 16 contest at McLane Stadium, a game which Baylor lost 34-31, will be aired live nationally on ABC.

We haven’t had a lot of success when we’ve talked about ‘hey if we do this we get this’, last year I did that and we played really tight against Iowa State and TCU so we play way better when it’s been like let’s just go play and here’s what’s special about our players, I think we have, it’s the most competitive group of young people I’ve ever been around, I’ll probably start getting a bunch of calls from former players now but, saying what about me coach but, literally if at the end of a practice I said ‘I’m not sure who’s faster Tyquan [Thornton] or Boogie [Barnes], they would literally race for an hour but then [Josh] Fleeks would say ‘no I’m faster’ and then [Jackson] Gleeson would say ‘wait a minute, I ran this and I’, they would be out there racing for like an hour, Bravvion [Roy] would probably say ‘I’m the fastest guy over 300’, it’s amazing the competitive nature of our guys so what I found works with our players is just to say hey let’s go compete, to go to Kansas and play in that weather and there weren’t very many people in the stands, it was less people maybe than Rice, just cause of Thanksgiving, I’m not saying that in a disrespectful way, and our guys went out and competed and in the fourth quarter that defense wanted a fourth quarter shutout, J Will [Jordan Williams] was screaming at the guys that were out there playing and we finally stopped them at the two and got the fourth quarter shutout, just a competitive group so to me when I start talking about CFP, it becomes a whole bunch of stuff, when I say let’s go play, man, we have a special group of kids when we do that.”

Im not sure we saw the same game. I saw Gerry do nothing but run for a few yards and get pummeled. We had to have a spark...something OU had not seen or did not know anything about and that was Zeno. I also thought Pltatt had world class speed and he got zero separation on the potential TD catch. If he had changed direction across the field he would have thrown off that dude and been harder to stop from behind. Fleeks and Ebner would have been in the EZ. When I saw him tackled I just had that feeling we needed to punch it in RIGHT THEN and we didn't. I think that cost us the game. If we are up 27 24 I think we win. But fate had a different ending in store.

They cut from a shot of Arnold leisurely strolling to his spot, with his back to the punter, immediately to the punter taking the snap and kicking it I don't think he was prepared, so the ball hit on the 17, and rolled down to the 1. I hope that if he had made a fair catch we would have tried to at least get in position to kick a game winning field goal.

Dude, that is BS. You just watched the way Rhule coaches and gave us a chance. Although I disagreed with several calls I never said he sucks! We are almost there. Offensive woes need to be addressed BEFORE the bowl game so that we do not throw out another impotent scheme that nobody respects. My heart goes out to the seniors and now I just hope they finish their career with a great bowl performance.

Yep, exactly. He did not realize the dude was closing in cuz if he had known he could have made a quick move across the field and maybe scored. But the play design was awesome.

We are not getting anybody named Briles back. I loved that offense. But you go with what got you here. Rhule is not the reason for O ineptitude. It is on Nixon and the O coaches. Rhule does not run that show. Defense is his thing.

The only thing that pisses me off is that we did not run Zeno out there at the start of the 2nd half. Gerry showed he could not lead this offense and so you always do what you have to do to give you the bes shot to win. without Zeno in there we would not have been in OT. It's pretty simple. It;s football.

The Briles backers are coming out of the woodwork. I never understand why or how you have this kind of season and then want a new head coach after the current one just took this team to the doorstep of the CFP. Think about it. That's like saying I will marry Jennifer Aniston and then after a year you just change her out for Kate Upton. Whatever!

This is and was a great year albeit a disappointing day. But I'm sure nobody here thought this was going to OT after the 1st qtr.

Eh not really. The game definitely looked too big for him, and we're fortunate the successful passes he did make weren't picked off.

He's still a great athlete, but today showed he doesn't really look like the future for this squad.

What game were you watching that you think Gerry gave a GOOD accounting of himself? Dude, he was impotent. OU had no respect for his arm. We never sustained a single drive. It was 3 and oout except for a few FD's and then 3 great plays and that was it. Gerry got really lucky the was not intercepted a couple times and the throw to Tyquan was just throw it over everybody's head and hope Tyquan comes down with it. Fortunately it worked, but he sustained nothing. YOU HAD TO BRING IN ZENO. Even in the NFL they sometimes make a change a QB JUST tTO PROVIDE A SPARK. Where we were at we had nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing so.
