Baylor DL James Lynch announces decision to leave for NFL
Baylor junior defensive lineman James Lynch, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and consensus All-American, announced his intentions of going to the NFL on Twitter Monday morning.
Lynch, a true junior from Round Rock, Texas, has been viewed as a potential first-round draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft in April since totaling 13.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in the 2019 football season. In his three-year Baylor career Lynch totaled 22.0 sacks and 33.5 tackles for loss. The sack total makes Lynch Baylor’s all-time sack leader.
Lynch joins redshirt junior safety Grayland Arnold as Baylor’s second early entry into the NFL draft. Arnold announced last week that he would forgo his senior season and enter the draft after a six interception and 46 tackle sseason.
