Baylor landed its 12th commitment in the 2021 class Sunday when Duncanville wide receiver Roderick Daniels pledged to the Bears.
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Daniels has been one of the hottest prospects on the recruiting trail in recent months, having earned 13 Power Five offers and seven Group of Five offers since January. Baylor offered on March 19th.
Daniels tallied 47 receptions for 749 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior in 2019. He also made a major impact on the running games with 557 yards and six touchdowns on just 34 carries. Daniels played a key factor in leading Duncanville to its second straight Class 6A Division-1 state title game, where it lost to Galena Park North Shore. He was named the Offensive MVP of District 8-6A.
A three-star prospect, Daniels chose Baylor over offers from SMU, TCU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miami and Minnesota, among many others.
Daniels is Baylor’s second wide receiver commit in the 2021 class, joining George Ranch (Texas) High School prospect Javon Gipson (6-3, 180).
