Johnathan Motley

On how he felt during the game with 32 points and 20 rebounds
“It’s kinda hard to explain, you don’t really remember what you do. You’re just kinda out there. I can’t tell you the moves I made. I literally can’t, I just forgot. It kind of just goes away. It’s just a crazy rhythm you get as a basketball player.”

On how responded following his technical after a second half dunk
“I just tried to bounce back and not make a mistake turn into two.”

Nuni Omot

On how things are coming together after sitting out the beginning of the season
"It’s starting to. I’ve been practicing, you know I had to sit out and I wasn’t practicing as much getting more repps. But I’m starting to get more reps which is starting to help me  get in the flow and see what it’s like for when I’m actually out there playing in the actual game.”

On his thoughts going onto the court off the bench
“When I got in, I just told myself I had to play as hard as possible. My teammates obviously did a really good job of finding me and I was in the right spots. And I had to reward them by finishing when getting the ball.”

On how the team countered Texas’ physical play
“Coach had told us we gotta try to front ‘em because they were trying to duck us in and get us in down low beneath the basket. So we just had to beat them to the spots before they beat us and it was too late for us to try to get around.”

Coach Scott Drew

On the emergence of Omot off the bench
“That’s the great thing about our team. I think everyone on our team is capable of having big nights and we’ve had that. There’s games we’ve won because our bench guys have all stepped up at different times. That’s what makes us a good team.”

On how the team rebounded after halftime
“I think we’re just more aggressive going to the glass second half. First half, I thought a lot of times on shots we were getting only one rebounder in there and in the second half, it seemed like we had a lot better effort with two and three rebounders.”

On Al Freeman’s pump fake swinging the game’s momentum
“I think, it’s obvious to see when the crowd gets involved and especially when they’re loud  when the other team’s on offense, that’s a big benefit ‘cause it hurts their communication  and inspire you to play more defense and when the crowd got going, we started to feed off it and gave more to cheer for.”

On taking advantage of Texas’ foul trouble
“We definitely know that they’re very good and with the start they got off to, we wanted to do a good job at making sure they had to play on the other end because we have good bigs as well and we did a good job getting the ball into where our guys could be successful and  could draw some fouls.”
