Ten Things: Baylor vs. Kansas
The 2020 season is finally official and last night wasn’t much different for Kansas than any other game against Baylor in recent memory. Here are at least ten thoughts on the game.
- Trestan Ebner is fast, #BEASTexas fast.
- Kansas has an incredibly long hill to climb and with FBI/NCAA fears hanging over the basketball program, I’m not sure what I’d do as a Kansas fan
- Missing 60% of the offensive line starters and 50% of the defensive line starters (both played later) showed some needed depth and WBK is as advertised
- Terrel Bernard had missed some practices, but you’d never know it. He is going to thrive in this defense.
- Was that Sqwirl? What a welcome sight of him sprinting past KU defenders to the end zone.
- Dave Aranda can get fired up and emotional and the team fed off of it. When he does it the purpose of pure and meaningful.
- Tailgate was an unknown, but we had several fans stay through the entire game and enjoy the normalcy of a college game with the sights and sounds all around us.
- It was a long day, but I couldn’t get to sleep until around 3am with the adrenaline still going from the start of this season. It is going to have ups and downs, like the missed tackles in a new defense or missed block by an OL shifted from where he’s been practicing all Fall.
- 1-0 is a great place to be and on top of the Big 12 standings with OSU, ISU, Texas, and KSU. Who’d have thunk it?
- Thanks as always to 3Nations, Brotherwell, Milo All Day, and the host of others which make our tailgate successful.
- The Pre-Game Show and Post Game Show went off without a hitch (minus a breaker flipping) in the studio at the end of the Post Game. Just an incredible journey to be on and more is on the way.
- Met some new subscribers, met some future new subscribers, and saw friends I haven’t seen in 20+ years yesterday. Normalcy is starting to bring us all back together in the form of what we all love, Baylor.
