Scott Drew

On the game plan for the last play
“We were trying to get it to Motley and they did a good job helping down and then when they took that away, we wish we could have gotten a better look and a better shot in the last six seconds or seven seconds. But they deserve credit taking away J-Mot down low.”

“I think if we could have passed out of that double [on Lecomte], that’s what we’d have preferred.”

On if forced or unforced errors were the biggest turnover issue

“I think it was both. There was some things we could have done different, definitely. . . .Because of [Kanas’] pressure, they caused some of it, got some deflections. I think they got to a lot of loose balls. We gotta do a better job coming up with those 50-50 balls, especially those going out of bounds.”

On learning from Kansas’s physical play for the NCAA tournament

“Hopefully that will help us when we get into the NCAA tournament where we keep getting better so we can get to the free throw line through drawing contact. That will be a point of emphasis continued out for us.”

Jake Lindsey

On the feeling losing a six-point lead with three minutes left
“It definitely hurts. As Coach Drew said, it comes down to execution late game against other good teams and I think they did a better job.”

On Baylor’s comeback after being down five points in the second half
“I think we just buckled down and made stops. We made Frank (Mason) take tough ones, he’s a good player, he’s gonna get pretty good shots- you gotta make ‘em tough. And J-Mot did a pretty good job, Manu (Lecomte) made a shot and hit a big three. Then we took care of the defensive glass but we didn’t sustain it when we needed to.”

Johnathan Motley

On Kansas’ effective traps forcing his six turnovers
“They did a good job coming with a hot hand and just flooding the paint. I got a few charges too they did a good job making it tough on me and always having a body there when I drive.”

On what prevented him from getting the ball the last play

“I had Landen (Lucas) on my top side and then I think Josh (Jackson) was on the front too, so there was really no way we could get it.”
