Sources: Baylor tight end Sam Snyder to medically retire from football

SicEm365 has learned that Baylor redshirt sophomore tight end Sam Snyder has officially signed paperwork to retire from football due to multiple concussions during his career in high school and during his career at Baylor his most recent coming towards the end of this season. He made the decision after seeing a Neurologist in January who recommended him to retire.

Baylor has not confirmed the news at this time, but Snyder is no longer listed on its official roster.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end had yet make an impact at Baylor and only saw action in two games with no receptions.

Under new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes there was thought that Snyder could have a bigger role during the 2021 season and moving forward as part of a more tight end friendly offense especially with his speed and frame.

During his recruitment in 2019 he was give the nickname “The Unicorn” by the Baylor coaching staff due to his elite testing numbers from high school which included a 4.59 40-time and a 40-inch vertical. Those to go along with his long frame made him one of the most talked about recruits in the entire class.
