He came by the Buddy magazine offices in 1980 or 81 to plug his new thing, "Elephant Parts"
Snapped this pic.
Nice guy. Really didn't want to talk about the Monkees that day, and we understood. (It was in the past.)

Saw the thread title; thought you might be referring to the little brush that comes in a bottle of Liquid Paper (invented by Nesmith's mother).

Nah.
Was trying to ride on Dave Letterman's references to a "brush with greatness."
Nesmith was pretty much on the leading edge of music videos, and that was what he wanted to talk about the day I met him.
If you haven't done so, check out the flick TIme Rider. Nesmith was heavily involved in it and it's pretty danged good. The predecessor of the Back to the Future genre.

He was also an executive producer for Repo Man, a great film IMHO.

Not my own brush, but he was my older brother's camp counselor one summer right before they became popular. He really liked him. I still think of that, literally, every time I hear a Monkees song or see a video.

He was a great songwriter…Some of Shelley's Blues, Beat of a Different Drum…
