I got so many requests that I posted it back up there.
A look at when Dallas, not Austin, was the music capital of Texas.
All true, all proven up!!!

The San Antonio eqv.

It’s method on the edge of madness
It’s a balance on the edge of a knife
It’s a smile on the edge of sadness
It’s a dance on the edge of life

Endlessly rocking.....

You couldn't pick up 99.5 KISS FM (San Antonio) in Waco, Tulsa, or Midland.
The Zoo had a much larger reach.
Not saying that KISS wasn't a good station, just that it did not have the audience the Zoo did.
We explain this in the documentary.

In the mid 80's, many of my crew would listen to KLUV 98.7 in Dallas. It was more of an oldies format ,with "Hubcap" Carter show on Fri and Sat nights..He had a large following with my age group, and was well known in DFW..We picked up the signal clearly here in Waco. I think it was New Years Eve, 1985, that Ricky Nelson's plane crashed near DeKalb Tx on their way to a Hubcap Carter event..
