I'm a punk dude but I do have some metal bands that I listen to. One of the most recent is Deafheaven. It's black metal fused with atmospheric melodies. It's pretty awesome. Here's one of their songs from their most recent album:
Man, I'm late to the party, but big metal fan here. I like nearly every subgenre, with deathcore being the big exception.
Here are the bands I've seen. There are still a few other "favorites" that I still haven't had the opportunity to go see live yet (Blind Guardian and Carach Angren come to mind).
Amon Amarth (twice) Enslaved Anthrax (twice) Slayer Testament Death Angel Symphony X Iced Earth Judas Priest King Diamond Nightwish Sonata Arctica Delain Epica (twice) Alestorm (three times) Turisas Arkona (five times) Huntress Korpiklaani Pallbearer Exmortus The Atlas Moth Gojira Devin Townsend Project Anvil Fear Factory Megadeth Tyr Metsatoll Eluveitie Nile Negura Bunget Dynfari Saint Vitus Nekrogoblikon Aether Realm Black Sabbath Fleshgod Apocalypse Iron Maiden Ghost
I saw a few of those guys. I got a pass for the first Gigantour in Dallas and they used a few of my shots in the DVD sleeve.

That being said, Pepper Keenan is one of the most underrated low key inspirational AF musicians of all time.
Absolutely. So glad he is back with COC. Can't believe I left them off my previous post. Corrosion of Conformity with Pepper on vocals is my absolute #1 band of all time. Criminally underrated band.
Buddy of mine was shocked that I'd never heard Deliverance and let me borrow his cd ages ago and I was hooked. Wise blood is still my fav but deliverance is a close second. Also very appropriately he steals the show in the Metallica cover of Tuesday's Gone on Garage Inc. in a collab that also featured Cantrell. I mean...
Had to be the accent. He was the only Southern guy in that room besides Gary Rossington.
Play this **** at the games, I bet we'd never lose.

I've been saying for years we needed to play this one!
LYRICS Bears! Charging down the ravine, Eyes glowing bright as they tear out your spleen. Over the mountains they fly with a roar Wherever they go, the bears just leave gore!
Bears! Standing tall in the woods, They'll bite off your face if you're up to no good. Claws leaving scars, giant teeth tearing skin, Fur on the outside and darkness within!
Beware the shadows that slink out of sight. The noises you hear will fill you with fright. Tonight the bears are hungry. (hungry...) Tonight you will not escape. (no escape...)
Listening to you as you say your prayers - Evil bears with deadly stares. Ripping you apart to protect what's theirs - There is no escape from the furious bears!
Hunters away! Stalking their prey! Track deep in the woods, to skin and to slay, They'll never catch up to the treacherous bears, Leading the hunters back to their lairs.
Look up in the forest, and what do you see? The face of a bear that's watching for thee. Stand still, never budge, or the end will come quick, Don't make a sound, don't break a twig. Many ways you can die, torn limb from limb, Being eaten by a bear would be especially grim.
BEARS! Watching you... BEARS! You're just food for... BEARS! Death comes slow when you're attacked by... BEARS! Live to kill... BEARS! Blood will spill... BEARS! Children eaten by the giant... BEARS!
Setting a trap will lead to your death, You'll wake up in its jaws, you'll stop drawing breath. Tonight the bears surround you. (Surround you...) Tonight there will be blood. (YOUR BLOOD!)
Hunters away! Stalking their prey! Track deep in the woods, to skin and to slay, They'll never catch up to the treacherous bears, Leading the hunters back to their lairs.

I saw them as headliners in 99, with dope as opener and Slipknot as direct support before their first album came out... The place was spent after the mayhem that was early slipknot, and half the people left.
I still like devildriver more but Loco and maricon puto stand out in my mind.
The opening salvo of Painkiller would be a good intro song at games as well

Kvelertak is one of those bands I've heard a little of and had a generally favorable impression, but I haven't listened to them nearly enough to call myself a fan without feeling like a bit of a poseur. Cards on the table, there are an awful lot of bands I would put into that category. There are just so many bands I enjoy, that it is hard to keep up (but fun to try).
I have a "best of" album by Coal Chamber. I like their music, but also I find that their songs get too repetitive for my taste. By the end of most songs, I feel ready to move on to the next.
Anyone else a big fan of Opeth? (At least pre-Heritage if not so much the newer stuff?)
Older band now, but I always liked Sevendust and their lead singer has an awesome voice.
I saw Sevendust open for Fuel in Waco. Pretty cool
Wish I'd been there
