How long are those kids allowed to practice each day?
It's unreal how long they stay out there. We continue to hear them in the distance from our house into the dark hours of the evening. No way are sports allowed to practice hours on end.

Some of those kids have fantastic talent, and don't seem to complain. Just my observation.

There are no regulations on band practice schedules.

The bigger, better bands will go two-a-day and sometimes three-a-day at preseason camp if they need it.

You may be hearing them later because they're starting later to miss the heat.

Yep. North Texas band practice is constantly going. They are required on campus before everyone else

Most big, competitive suburban schools easily beat the football practice times.

Here's the bad news, university marching bands could care less.

it's more about the visual spectacle for HS bands, those kids, save some brass aren't learning music..

Its great to have a competitive outlet, but school music programs are no longer about music.

If the band participates in UIL marching contests, there are regulations for practice dates & times. These rules are much the same for sports or band. During the school year, they are limited to 8 hours a week total.
