Smoke around Bryan Harsin's future at Auburn has quickly morphed into flames, as his time on the Plains appears to be in serious jeopardy. The next 24 hours are likely to determine whether he remains Auburn's coach for a second season, sources have informed Auburn Undercover.

As push could apparently come to shove Friday, former Auburn defensive tackle Lee Hunter shared his thoughts on some of the issues for Harsin as the leader of Auburn's program.

"I chose to leave Auburn because we got treated like we wasn't good enough, and like dogs," Hunter wrote in an Instagram post Friday morning. "I love you Auburn nation. ... Coach Harsin has the true mindset for a winner but has a terrible mindset as a person."

His post was liked by Auburn players Jaylin Simpson, A.D. Diamond, DJ James, Desmond Tisdol, Dylan Brooks, Kam Stutts, Landen King, Jay Sharp, and former Auburn players Smoke Monday, Kobe Hudson, Shaun Shivers, Ja'Varrius Johnson, Ladarius Tennison, Elijah Canion, Dre Butler and Ian Mathews.

Hunter, the second-highest rated recruit in Auburn's 2021 class, is one of 18 scholarship players to have transferred out of the program since the conclusion of the regular season. He landed at UCF with former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn.

Auburn went 6-7 in Harsin's first season, including a five-game losing streak to end the season."

Here's what I'm comfortable saying: There's been a concerted effort to ramp up pressure and make it untenable for Bryan Harsin to return for Year 2. And Harsin has provided plenty of ammo from coaching departures to transfer portal exodus. Situation moving fast.

If Harsin is sleeping with his assistant and treating players poorly, he deserves to be fired. But let's be honest, the only reason these things are really issues in SEC country is because he didn't win last fall.

SEC schools get real morally indignant when they have a coach they want gone (or not hired in the first place, in the case of Greg Schiano). And they get real understanding and forgiving when they don't.

WoW! Let's leave the girl out of it. Harsin has a mutiny on his hands, has lost 18 players to the transfer portal, and is not liked in SEC country. Those are facts, and that is what might get him axed

He seemed like a strange fit for Dixie anyway. He seemed more like a P12 kind of guy (and I am not referring to these allegations at all if anyone thinks Im making fun of the west coast).

If he is out whether Steele would have a shot at having his 3rd job in a week.

Seriously where would they turn for a HC this late in the year? Getting rid of your HC is about the same equivalent in the calendar as when we did it in 16.
