85 Days till Kickoff: 85 TDs for Baylor Football in 2015

The 2015 Baylor Bears were an almost unstoppable force on offense. Over the course of the season, they scored 85 touchdowns, 44 through the air and 41 on the ground.

Led by Seth Russell, Shock Linwood and Corey Coleman, the Bears scored at least 56 points in each of their first 6 games. The team was deep at the skill positions and had a powerful offensive line as well.

Corey Coleman led the team in receiving TDs with 20. Seth Russell had 29 passing TDs and Stidham threw 12. Shock Linwood, Devin Chafin, and Johnny Jefferson had 10, 9, and 8 rushing TDs respectively.

The Bears averaged 48.08 points per game and looked poised to make a run at a national championship until Seth Russell broke a bone in his neck in the seventh game against Iowa State.

Jarrett Stidham stepped in and looked promising through a couple of contests, but the Bears fell to Oklahoma in a tight 44-34 game before Stidham was sidelined for the season with an ankle injury a week later against Oklahoma State.

The team went on to lose in 2OT to TCU and by six points to Texas to end the regular season. The Bears did finish on a high note though, beating No. 10 North Carolina 49-38 while running a wildcat offense the whole game.

Baylor’s final record was 10-3, and they were ranked No. 13 in the final AP poll.
