• I took a trade down from 9 to 13 to pick up an extra 2nd and get a 4th back.
• Took the tOSU OT who may displace Guyton at LT, with the hope that Guyton can maybe push Steele out
• Probably the other notable pick I did was taking a center, with the thought you could slide Beebe to RG and replace Martin who I am thinking is going to retire.

Never heard of that QB

had some excellent tradebacks available but Travis Hunter was there at 9. Thats a once in a decade talent. You cant pass him up. Took 2 OTs as I think one can go to OG if we need it, but hope they both stay at OT. Got Kansas RB Neal later. Dont really know the QB McCord but thats why we do these mocks, so we do know who they are

Just thinking about the draft. While we need a QB, even if Dak comes back (which I am doubtful as hammy's are one nasty injury and easy to hurt again), if someone like Travis Hunter is available, I say 'take him' and look to the 2026 draft for a QB. Instead, fix the OL and DL line with youngsters. LBs too. Get everything ready for your next Dak, not the present one.

Dang but Josh Allen is something else... runs like a power RB. Hits like a LB. And he's a QB!

I would guess McCarthy is gone at the end of the year. I wonder which direction Jerry will go? Will he let Will McClay take over more of the GM job? There has to be a reckoning at the end of the season (it's already arrived as far as I can tell)

Per Cowboy Wire:

Dallas signed Prescott to a four-year, $240 million extension beyond what was already on the books for 2024. The extension has four void years at the end, allowing Dallas to restructure each season and push cap hit off into the future. As currently constructed, Prescott will count $89 million against the 2025 cap. If the Cowboys want to escape the deal sooner than later, they will not touch this very much, if at all. The other option is to move up to $36 million of cap hit into the future.

Eating Prescott's big cap hit in 2025 allows the Cowboys to see some cap savings in 2026 and a ton in 2027, if they decide to roll with a draft pick in Year 2 or Year 3. Dallas would save $6 million in space if they traded Prescott in 2026, and if he started the next two seasons they'd see $28 million in savings in 2027.

Allowing Prescott to rebuild his value in 2025, trading him for multiple first-round picks and having a new franchise signal caller already in tow seems like a viable path forward for the next head coach.
