Understatement of the year: 'I can't imagine where Dallas would be right now if Oakland didn't trade away Amari Cooper last year.' Marcus Mosher

Yeah, seriously its time to let Jarwin get out there where I think he as proven to be a more than capable average starting TE in today's NFL. It isn't if Witten is a tremendously better blocker.

Lets be honest, this is par for the course for this team being stubborn in playing veteran/favorite players no matter what, with Anthony Brown vs Jourdan Lewis being a prime example, and lets not even start with Jeff Heath.

Ready for a change!

And most importantly!

READY FOR OU! 1-0!

Probably a positive given his play...

Connor Williams will have surgery on his knee Tuesday but the hope is he will be able to return after a few weeks. Xavier Su'a-Filo will likely move into the left guard role, which is how the Cowboys handled Williams' absence last year because of a knee scope.

The history of Cowboys-Lions is filled with strange outcomes a 5-0 playoff win for Dallas on the way to the first Cowboys' Super Bowl and a 31-30 win for Detroit in 2013 when the Lions went 80 yards in less than a minute without a timeout so why should this one be different? Even without Matthew Stafford, the Lions controlled the line of scrimmage against the Bears, ran 75 plays to the Bears' 52 and sacked Mitch Trubisky five times. Expect difficult moments and strange things for Dallas. Cowboys 23, Lions 23.

Michael Gehlken
This is primed to be a game in which the Cowboys' defense leads the way. Detroit lacks a respectable run game and likely is without quarterback Matthew Stafford. His replacement, Jeff Driskel, looked OK last week against the Chicago Bears. But Dallas should bring more pressure, creating chances for takeaways. Cowboys 27, Lions 10.

Damon Marx
The Cowboys under Jason Garrett play their best when their backs are against the wall, and that's the situation they find themselves in at 5-4 with tougher opponents on the horizon. It shouldn't matter whether Lions QB Matthew Stafford plays or sits, Dallas is the more desperate team. If the Cowboys somehow lose this one, it will be time to freshen up the watch lists for the next head coach. Cowboys 30, Lions 17.

David Moore
The Cowboys have won one road game in the last eight weeks. One. There are only five teams in the league that have a worse record than Dallas since Week 4. Guess it's a good thing the Lions are one of those teams and this game is on the road. The Cowboys can only afford to lose two games the rest of the way and have a realistic chance of capturing the division title. This isn't one they can afford to lose. Cowboys 30, Lions 17.

John Owning
While it wouldn't be surprising if the Cowboys laid an egg vs. an overmatched Lions squad, everything points to the Cowboys getting a much-needed road victory outside of the division. The Cowboys' offense should be able to move the ball against the Lions' below-average defense. Big games from Amari Cooper and DeMarcus Lawrence propel the Cowboys to victory. Cowboys 27, Lions 17.

Kevin Sherrington
What the Cowboys have established here is that, with the exception of the Jets, they can beat mediocre or bad teams. If Matthew Stafford can't play, the Lions qualify as the latter. They've lost five of their last six, with only a win over the Giants. If the Cowboys can't win this game, the heat turns up even more on Jason Garrett. Jerry Jones won't fire him even if he loses. But the clock will be ticking. Cowboys 27, Lions 17.

Calvin Watkins
Dallas is desperate for a victory given the ramifications a loss would have on its season. Kellen Moore must recognize that if something isn't working within his offense, he needs to leave it alone. We understand you don't want to be one-dimensional, but sometimes you need to win a game. Dallas needs one to maintain its first-place status in the NFC East. It doesn't matter how the Cowboys win against the Lions, they just need to win. Cowboys 21, Lions 10.

Dallas Cowboys Safety Jeff Heath has been a starter for the defense since the beginning of the 2017 season. A streak of 35 games is likely coming to an end for Heath as he's been dealing with a shoulder issue this week. What this means for the Dallas Cowboys is that Darian Thompson, who's been filling in for the Cowboys as Heath's dealt with injuries each of the last couple of weeks, is set to start for the Cowboys this week against the Detroit Lions.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin has averaged 9.8 yards per target (197 yards/20 targets) this season.

That is the best in the NFL of 42 qualified tight ends. League average is 7.5.

It's early...plenty of game to be played. Besides, look at it this way, if we lose to this team it means another nail in Garrett's coffin so win-win

The mark of an unprepared team. 12 men in the huddle. Taking too much time to get set. Having to waste a timeout to prevent a penalty

Not to mention we are always up against the play clock in general. A ship with no rudder and no Captain
