Peter Kings mock;

Quote:

26. DALLAS: Joey Porter Jr., cornerback, Penn State.

When the offseason began, I expected Porterson the of the ferocious former Steeler linebackerto go somewhere in the teens, latest. But some evaluators think he's not the physical presence his size (6-2 , 193 pounds) would portend, and I wouldn't be shocked if he fell out of the first round.

Haven't even been considering him. Thought he was a top 10 or 15 type

From what I've heard, Bijan, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Darnell Wright are 3 of the guys we want most, but they'll almost for sure be gone by 26 and I highly doubt we trade up. I've also heard Michael Mayer, Will McDonald, Mazi Smith, Steve Avila, or a trade down. I'd honestly be fine with any of these options.
The one that can help us most next season is probably Bijan. although I hear Jaymar Gibbs is running a close second in the RB category and might do the same. Would allow us to let Pollard go next season if we have to. Avila is interesting although I think he is a second rounder.

I didn't see Bijan catch at the combine. Believe it when I see it.
Bijan is a really good receiver. Good enough that you could line him up in the slot.

Then line him up in the slot. Save money.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

I forgot Gibbs, I've heard his name rumored too. Avila is probably the guy we would take if we traded down
btw - what if Darnell Wright, the big OT from Tennessee drops into our laps? He could play OG for a season then got to R OT if Steele is let go
That would be great, Wright is a similar player to Tyler Smith. Only thing is I've heard he has character concerns but Dallas doesn't care based off their history.

Theres so many different directions they could go and with how good they've drafted as of late, I'd be okay with almost anyone.

Especially picking 26. Hard to project as we are so far at the back

As we get closer to the first round, I am feeling that unless a Bijan or similar drops to us, I am all for trading back with someone like Houston who has the second pick of the second round and picking up at least one extra premium pick.

In 2010, the Cowboys traded up from 27th to 24th to take Dez Bryant and in 2012, they moved up from 14th to 6th to take Morris Claiborne. Since the Claiborne trade up though, the Cowboys haven't moved up in the first round in 13 years.

and the last time we moved up in the 2nd round was for DeMarcus Lawrence I believe, which was a while ago too

Just hoping Bijan DOES NOT go to the Eagles at 10. I think they will go D but he is an ultimate talent. Also hoping Will Anderson and Jalen Carter dont drop to them but thats a lot to ask

Unfortunatly with 4 QB's likely going in the first 9 picks, they're in line to get a stud defender. I've heard Atlanta loves Bijan so hopefully they take him and keep him out of Philly.

ESPN now says Houston will NOT go QB at 2 but Defense, probably Will Anderson. Changes up a bit who drops to Philly as some teams could trade up ahead of them

Well, it's game day. And according to two league sources, the Cowboys are engaging in what one called the "exploring'' of a trade up from No. 26 in Round 1 "to teams in the late teens.''

After 27 months of challenging negotiations, Lamar Jackson reached a five-year deal with the Ravens on Thursday, the team announced.

The agreement is worth $260 million, a source told ESPN, making Jackson the highest-paid player in the league at $52 million per year. It includes $185 million in guaranteed money, the source said.
