There were a lot of chicken littles on this thread screaming about letting Zeke go because we wouldn't have a "tough yards guy".

Dowdle has pretty well put that to sleep like a Tyson uppercut.
Remember that this was his second best game of the year with 46 yards. Here are the rest of his games chronologically

24, 26, 21, 9, 15, 12, 18, 8, 79 (Giants), 23, 11, 15, 46

Please don't compare him to Zeke.
I'm not worried how many yards he gets in a game. I'm worried about how many yards he gets when we need him to get 2-3 yards, and he's consistently done that this year....just like Zeke...and for wayyyyyyyyy less money. Dowdle is a better running back right now than Zeke by a wide margin.
Not sure I would say that he is even 'as good' as current Zeke. Zeke's lines for this year? 29, 13, 80, 16, 21, 34, 31 36, 17, 54, 46, 52, 68 for 497 yds total for compared to Rico's 307 yds.
Dowdle - 4.1 yards per carry. Zeke - 3.7 yards per carry.
Dowdle cap hit - $1 million. Zeke cap hit - $2.9 million (would have been $16.4 million if Dallas kept him.)

Add that Dallas OL is vastly superior, ranked #6, to the Patriots which is near the worst in the league

Thoughts on the eagles game:

The outcome and domination in this game didn't surprise me in the least. The eagles have been scraping by with extreme fortune this year.

Dak just keeps humming along at a record pace. He didn't even play his best game and had almost 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is now the leader in the MVP race to me.

The running game is not elite but it's enough to keep teams honest. Pollard and Dowdle offer a solid one two punch.

Ferguson has emerged as a top level tight end before our very eyes. His toughness and edgie attitude are exactly what this team needs.

Cooks continues to be a great number 2 receiver. He was wide open on the play where Dak fumbled. I still selfishly feel they should hit those more often.

Cee Dee is really really really good. I just don't know if he's great yet. The 2 drops last week and another drop this week on what would have been a huge gain keep him from being the best in the league to me. He's still really good though.

Stephen Gilmore turned back the clock for one game. Great to see him fired up.

The defense as a whole played really well with turnovers still being the key to their success.

I'm more concerned with the Bills game than the eagles. Dallas needs to show they can win against tough teams on the road.

Dallas moves up to #2 in the Fox Sports rankings, right behind the 49rs

2. Dallas Cowboys (10-3) +3

No win in Week 14 was more impressive than the Cowboys grinding the 10-win Eagles into a fine powder. Dak Prescott didn't even play his best game and Dallas still managed to win by 20, with offense, defense and special teams all clicking simultaneously. There's no time for a letdown, though. Beating Josh Allen and the Bills is the next big test.

Bills are #5:

5. Buffalo Bills (7-6) +4

The Bills have just a 42% chance of making the playoffs, but I have zero issues ranking them this highly. They're obviously flawed, particularly on defense. But Josh Allen is playing at a level that will give them a chance in every game, having scored nine touchdowns in his last three outings. If they sneak in, you won't want to play them.

If Cowboys are without NT Johnathan Hankins (high ankle sprain) for any period of time, DC Dan Quinn said the team won't be searching for answers outside building. Increased chances for Mazi Smith. Carl Davis Jr. available for elevation on practice squad.

we really just need 49er and philly losses. everything else doesn't matter if we keep winning.

Seattle might be able to take them hoes down.

Unless SF is hungover, they not losing to the cards, I don't think.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

Darius Slay is out so the Philly secondary just became more suspect.

From what I understand, Hurts has a horrible case of ugliness, compounded by the air quality in Philadelphia. Apparently he tried running up the steps to the Rocky statue and had to take cigarette breaks on the way up...

could it be a CeeDee day?

The Bills defense, when faced against a star receiver over the last few weeks, have failed to stop them. Travis Kelce (6/83), DeVonta Smith (7/106/1), Tee Higgins (8/110), and Calvin Ridley (7/122) have all had their way with the Bills secondary.

The weather worries me from a kicking game standpoint. Not sure how much experience Aubrey has kicking in weather like that.

Great game ending with the Browns and Bears. with about 5 seconds left and 4th down, Fields throws a 50 yard hail mary. Bounces off the group of defenders/receivers packed together, right into the hands of the WR who had been knocked down on the ground. He has the pass in his hands for the win while laying on his back, and somehow it bounces up and into the hands of a defender.... would have been the catch of the year!

I dont think Hankins would have allowed that pack to push downfield like they did three times on that drive. Hard to tell if that was on Mazi or not
