Just trying to remember, how many Superbowls have the Eagles been in?

Mike Fisher making a statement today in his newsletter that Dallas might look at an OT vs D early in the draft. Definitely makes a case

Not sure there is one I draft with what would be our pick. The GB pick is most likely a different story.

Fisher's story

My pal at the Dallas News, Joe Hoyt, has written a smart piece suggesting that in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Cowboys might "need to invest more resources'' in the offensive line. Joe's reasoning is sound enough.
He reflects on the recent 44-30 loss at Detroit, writing, "Second-year offensive tackle Nate Thomas … allowed a team-high eight pressures'' (subbing for the injured tyler Guyton on the left side). … Right tackle Terence Steele wasn't far behind, finishing the game with six pressures allowed. …

"Quarterback Dak Prescott was under siege all night. He was hit 11 times and sacked five times, including three times by former Cowboys training camp invitee Al-Quadin Muhammad.''

The Cowboys, of course, have "invested resources'' in this O-line. There's a former first-round pick in Tyler Guyton (a 2024 first-round pick and All-Pro Tyler Smith (2022) and a first-round pick this year in Tyler Booker.
Ah, yes, "The Great Wall of Tyler.''

And center Cooper Beebe was a 2024 third-rounder.
That's a lot of "investing.''

Writes Hoyt, "The performance on Thursday does highlight a potential need at tackle moving forward. … It's why they could invest another early-round pick on an offensive lineman in the 2026 draft, especially considering they have two first-round picks.''

Steele was a UDFA who's something short of special. Thomas was a seventh-rounder, so he was one tick above being a UDFA. But the other four guys need to all be studs (and be healthy) and that hasn't happened yet.
The great Dane Brugler recently released his first 2026 Mock Draft. He's got Dallas picking at Nos. 16 and 27.

With that initial selection, Dane goes with Jermod McCoy, the cornerback from Tennessee. With the other one, it's CJ Allen, the linebacker from Georgia.

No tackles. Anything wrong with picking a corner and a linebacker? Of course not. Dallas "needs'' both, just as much as they "need'' a tackle.

But what if Brugler's No. 8 guy, Texas Tech edge David Bailey, falls? Or his No. 10 guy, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, falls? Or his No. 11 guy, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, falls?

Do they "need'' an edge or a safety or a running back?

Why should that matter more than the idea that Bailey, say, might end up going to six Pro Bowls? Or that Love, say, might be the next Saquon Barkley?

Are there going to be draft-worthy tackles? Sure. Spencer Fano from Utah is a top-10 guy per Brugler. He's got Alabama's Kadyn Proctor at 17 and Miami's Francis Mauigoa at 18 and Georgia's Monroe Freeling at 32.

There are reasons for Dallas to pick a tackle - but the biggest reason must be about his talent, and not the Cowboys' lack thereof.

Guys, it doesn't really take an "I Watch Film'' expert to see it: "Draft a position'' is a mistake waiting to happen. The solution - say it with me! - is "BAA.''

NFL.com

Has us picking 15. If we don't make the playoffs, the worst we can pick is 18 so I say, win out!

Quote:

Dallas Cowboys
6-6-1
Strength of schedule: .470
Remaining SOS: .365 (28)
Week 15 opponent: vs. Vikings | SNF
Biggest needs: Edge, RB, S, LB, WR

The Cowboys will have a big decision to make at running back, with 1,000-yard rusher Javonte Williams playing on a one-year deal. Fifth-round rookie Jaydon Blue hasn't really made an impact this season, so Dallas will have a glaring void in the backfield if Williams doesn't return.

ESPN's Most Likely to get Cut or Traded

Trevon Diggs, CB, Dallas Cowboys

It has been an up-and-down year for Diggs in Dallas, complete with an injury suffered at home. The Cowboys drafted cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. in April, and while Diggs has three years and $57 million left on his contract, none of that money is guaranteed. The Cowboys would incur just $5.88 million in dead money if they released him.

Diggs has been working his way back from injury and still has a chance to show enough over the rest of the season to convince Dallas to keep him. But at this point, it's no sure thing that they do. Diggs had 11 interceptions back in 2021, but he has only six over the past four seasons combined and last played 17 games in 2022.

Yep, you can pretty much list him as a post 1 Jun cut.

Maybe someone will over some of their draft picks or a player for him, prior to that

Nope...no one is taking on that contract even with a 7th round pick.

5:50 p.m. -- Jadeveon Clowney is officially back for the Cowboys.

The veteran pass rusher was sidelined in the eventual loss to the Lions due to a hamstring injury. He returned to practice this week, originally in a limited capacity, before being a full participant then given the green light to play against the Vikings.

Tyler Guyton, however, is ruled out as he continues to recover from an ankle sprain that also cost him the outing in Detroit.

Other inactives alongside Guyton, against Minnesota, are Jalen Tolbert, Jay Toia, Jaydon Blue and Perrion Winfrey.
