30 for 30: #28 Jordan Williams
Linebacker, Jordan Williams (5-11, 220) | Paris (TX) High School
— Williams was a late take for Baylor at the end of the 2015 recruiting class but proved he has the skillset to be a major contributor for the Bears by the time he is finished in Waco in a big game in his only start of his career against Oklahoma in 2016. Williams totaled 14 tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss in the contest.
— Listed as a back up behind senior WLB Taylor Young, Williams will have to take advantage of his playing time on the field and succeed as a special teams player the majority of the time.
— If it were any other year Williams might have an opportunity to move around to allow Mike Siravo to get his most talented players on the field at once, but the linebacker group across the board is deep enough to prevent the need (or opportunity) to do that. That's not because Williams doesn't have the talent.
— TCU head coach Gary Patterson made a comment about Williams when the Bears signed him in 2015. Without going back to look at the specific quote, Patterson was very complimentary of the signing by the Bears and had a high opinion of Williams.
— It's tough to nail down what expectations should be for Williams, but I expect him to be a disruptive player when he does take the field. He will play with a physical trait that goes back to his high school days and has some speed to make plays across the field.
