Unreal how this happens. BYU basically had 5 3-and-outs in the previous 4 possessions and then march down the field. I've never understand why the 2 minute game changes anything.

Herb is a homer. Rg3 isnt. And guess what, herb isnt ever calling nfl games. Rg3 is, thats the difference. Hes playing his strengths very well.
If baylor takes over with big plays in the 2nd half and starts to dominate he will acknowledge it with enthusiasm.
And actually he was 17-30, not 17-20.

I think it is a matter of pressure, not the wrs. Shapen is running for his life every play. Their qb is checking his watch before he throws. Rushing 4 every play in this altitude wont work. Need to get creative if they go pass heavy.
In the flip side, we have to get them to back off. We have ran 1? screen (near the end zone.) Need some more of that.

I'm going to also give BYU coaching credit. Called a timeout on 3rd down. Told the kids if they pick up the first, hustle to the line and take one shot to endzone. It worked.

This. No one thought this would be a blowout at halftime, and we all knew Baylor would have to go through some growing pains in this game. That's not to say it won't win, but it is to say the team isn't a finished product right now and will improve as the season progresses (barring injuries).

Yep, this game very well may come down to a single drive and grimes gonna have to figure it out fast. If we dont score to open the 3rd its gonna be a long test of a 2nd half. Cougs dont need any more momentum
The pass plays we're running are taking wayyyy to long to develop. You're correct the o line is doing zero to help that. Also agree on defense. Hall has all day back there. We have to get Blake settled and into a rhythm if we're going to find a way to pull this out

The Bears have always tested our patience, but they are very resilient. Time to make adjustments at the half and challenge the players, and coaches to find a way to win. I do think if Blake would run, just a little, it would result in a little more time to throw

Last year Aranda and staff made some fantastic half time adjustments. I expect the same thing tonight.

I really dont. Its not shapen. He isnt throwing interceptions and making poor throws downfield. Our wr group is covered like a blanket and credit byu coaching staff for prepping their squad. Our backup isnt gonna get this one done. This is a war and i have confidence blake will make some critical plays to lock this one down.

Hopefully the BYU doesn't continue to throw dimes like he did on that last drive. Literally perfect throws including that touchdown. Wasn't much the defense could do, but not many college qbs can continue that for a full game.

Kind of reminiscent of tcu last year they were all over the place and caught our defense off guard. No excuse though he was without film.

WVU isn't horrible. They should have beaten Pitt in week 1. Kansas is better than they've been. Tough conference top to bottom.
