Gameday Thread: No. 16 Baylor faces No. 9 Oklahoma State

The No. 16 Baylor Bears (3-1) return home to face Oklahoma State (3-0) on Saturday at McLane Stadium in a rematch of the 2021 Big 12 Championship game.. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be aired live on FOX.

Analysis of the Week

Former Baylor QB J.J. Joe

This week will be a markedly different approach for Coach Grimes and Blake Shapen. The schedule is very similar to last year when Baylor went from playing an Iowa State defense that plays a little more bend-but-don't-break to a Cowboy defense that attacked our offense limiting the Gerry Bohannon-led offense to 280 Total yards.

Well, this Cowboy defense while under a new Defensive Coordinator Derek Mason remains an aggressive style of defense, especially on passing downs. The strength of the Cowboy defense has to be upfront. The Cowboys have a very experienced group that is highlighted by three (3) Sixth Year Seniors in Brock Martin (DE), Brendon Evers (DT), and Sione Asi (DT) plus one 5th year senior in Tyler Lacy (DE). These guys are men, I mean men. Their average age is over 24 years old. So our experienced offensive line will meet a very formidable front on Saturday.

Man they've really talked shapen into being the opposite of the runner he was last year.

Safer but so many missed opportunities.

Toss in the end zone that led to a safety. And then going for it way too early on fourth in our own territory that also led to points for ok st. This game would be a one score game if not for those two

So many mistakes on both sides of the field by everyone. Shared blaming including on the coaches. Hopefully the players face this adversity better than our fans lol!!!!

Not trying to insult you, but are you being serious? Oklahoma State may be in the championship, but Baylor will struggle to get six wins this year. That's the reality we are in

There were definitely some brain dead play calls.

I didn't like going for it on 4th and 5 from our 40….and they turned it into a FG. But….if we point that out then we have to consider we also went for it on 4th and 5 from our 30 and got 7.

Those call are too risky for my conservative nature….but the net result was a +4 for BU.

Honest question how many B12 games have started by the opposing team marching down and putting 7 on the board with ease? Both this year and it felt like a ton last year. Couple that with Grimes refusing to open it up until he literally has too and it's a recipe for failure
