The No. 16 Baylor Bears (3-1) return home to face Oklahoma State (3-0) on Saturday at McLane Stadium in a rematch of the 2021 Big 12 Championship game.. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be aired live on FOX.
"Definitely, we got this Gold Out thing this week. So, we're really excited for that. I know the fans and supporters are gonna bring a lot of energy with that. So that's definitely going to fuel us on the field."
Junior Tight End Drake Dabney
"I think the main difference is just new people on the (OSU) defense. A lot of the same frontline guys, but definitely new secondary, new linebackers, but still the same fast Oklahoma State team. Lots of respect about that defense, they'll be bringing it.”
Head Coach Dave Aranda
"Yeah, I think (the defenisve backs’) confidence is increasing. And I think they're playing hard and practicing well. You look at the last week those guys had was their best week, and then they come out and play well. And so it's really cool to see, and we'd like to build on that."
Analysis of the Week
Former Baylor QB J.J. Joe
This week will be a markedly different approach for Coach Grimes and Blake Shapen. The schedule is very similar to last year when Baylor went from playing an Iowa State defense that plays a little more bend-but-don't-break to a Cowboy defense that attacked our offense limiting the Gerry Bohannon-led offense to 280 Total yards.
Well, this Cowboy defense while under a new Defensive Coordinator Derek Mason remains an aggressive style of defense, especially on passing downs. The strength of the Cowboy defense has to be upfront. The Cowboys have a very experienced group that is highlighted by three (3) Sixth Year Seniors in Brock Martin (DE), Brendon Evers (DT), and Sione Asi (DT) plus one 5th year senior in Tyler Lacy (DE). These guys are men, I mean men. Their average age is over 24 years old. So our experienced offensive line will meet a very formidable front on Saturday.
It's going to be tough to go 3-4 through that. Let alone 6-1. That's a pipe dream right now. Every single game left is a toss up and will be underdogs in a good 3-4 of them
Tough loss..I will probably get flamed for this, but, it's a miracle we ended up where we did last year. We easily could have ended up a 7-8 win team last year. With the grace of god we won, but we are not a dominant football team.
Toss in the end zone that led to a safety. And then going for it way too early on fourth in our own territory that also led to points for ok st. This game would be a one score game if not for those two
BIG 12 Championship Game is still within reach. However, no games like this. No more playing from behind. And get a kicker that can put it in the end zone.
Honest question how many B12 games have started by the opposing team marching down and putting 7 on the board with ease? Both this year and it felt like a ton last year. Couple that with Grimes refusing to open it up until he literally has too and it's a recipe for failure
When grimes is eventually gone, I'll look back and wonder "why"
We deserve this L… look at the bright spot after we lay an egg in zmoegabtiwn and drop to 3-3 the focus can be turned to basketball season
Does Anyone really care to have an ego on a baylor sports premium board? Big ballers over there eh?
But first you'll see all these folks who predicted us in the playoffs this year (there were many on the premium board) post long diatribes about how they knew it would be a down season and how these offensive coaches are top notch and we'll for sure be in the playoffs next season
lmao clavin af. 5000 words to say nothing
So many massive egos on the premium board. Bunch of ego stroking. Wife is 38 weeks pregnant, I don't have time for it anymore.
I still have faith in this season but in the years to come this team is going to be a force all these young guys getting quality playing time is only gonna pay off

.@BUFootball coach Dave Aranda thought the Bears' energy level was better in the second half. "There were times in the first half, it was as if someone had drained the blood from our faces."

Asked Dave Aranda postgame about what allowed Oklahoma State to thrive in critical situations today that Baylor did not.
"I think there's a lot of confidence with them. I think we're not there yet. I think some of that is 'hey, this ain't last year.'" pic.twitter.com/kIPU6rJuyD
From a BYU fan, genuinely sorry you guys lost. We were really pulling for Baylor to get the win there. Good news is that you still have a shot at the Big 12 title game and the championship. Hoping you guys take out TCU and destroy Oklahoma and Texas.
Game over. NO pass rush. Just not good this year. Can't win in Morgantown, TCU is a guaranteed Loss no matter where it's played. Ewers will skewer us, OU will find a way to improve by the time we play in Norman.
That's funny. West Virginia is at the bottom of the Big 12. This should have been a blow out. No excuse. The OU game will be an interesting one, and that's not a good thing. After last weekend's performance they shouldn't win another game. But the BU game is a legit todd up. Talk about an under performing disappointment.
