Thee most idiotic take I've ever seen. " I'd rather lose than win" Briles won 2 B12 titles with the best O in the nation and a mediocre defense. Offense is trending in CFB. You want proof of that look at the top teams all have elite offense. Also our defense has sucked pretty much all year… not sure where you've been or if you've been paying any attention.

Not sure what team you were watching, but BUs offense rode the coattails of our Amazing D. Of course GB played his part, but he wasn't the reason we were B12 champs. Nothing against GB but our offense last year was above average but not that good.

You know what Bohannon didn't do? He didn't cause you to lose a game (with the exception of the TCU game) He converted 3rd and short yardage plays and didn't make momentum killing turnovers
You don't replace that guy you improve that guy in the offseason. However i have a feeling we don't have a guy on staff who can develop quarterbacks

BTW Baylor offense was ranked 3rd in the Big 12 last year.
Nothing wrong with that. No need to bench the starter for captain Average. If we had a top ranked QB waiting i wouldn't have had a problem with GB losing his job but we didn't

You forget how good Shapen looked during his outings. When Gerry had us through, Shapen got some low pressure garbage time, and looked great.

In the end, I think it's the pressure, the responsibility, that Shapen doesn't know how to handle. I'm not sure the coaches could have known that. Only a great qb coach could figure that out imo.

I give the coaches an 80% pass on ditching Gerry. However i still blame them 20%, because as a general rule, the guy you rode to your best season maybe ever, certainly recently, is not someone you throw away. If you've recruited so many studs that there isn't room for that guy, I still think you give him a shot to start the season.

You manage these things with intelligence driven by experience. You don't be a flit driven by the wind. Amanda lacks experience, but how is he supposed to get it except by making this mistake?

And Rhule won with a lot of Briles seniors. We need to pump the brakes, we lost a lot of production from last year. Hopefully we will turn it around next season. Our current guys will mature and get better

I don't think there are enough people for there to be a Team Guru. I think most here still support Dave Aranda and will until a season like this one becomes the norm.

Not trolling. I'll admit saying he needs to go his an attention grabber but it needs to be said that his in game decisions are hurting more then helping.

I think you make good points. Really seems like GB would have been the better choice this season, not that it does us any good now. I don't know if I would have agreed with that statement at the beginning of the season given that our passing game was so seemingly ineffective last year. But I would have expected our coaches to have a better sense of Shapen's abilities vs GB's, but it really seems like they didn't. Of course performing under pressure is a hard quality to measure, but at least we knew GB wouldn't fold. And yes, really seems like our staff is lacking in the qb development area.

Shapen was great in Arlington until he was hurt. Even after the injury he was mostly pretty good.
