Find the market deficiency. I don't know what it would look like today
Have you ever met Bill Snyder? The guys last words will be coaching or asking about the butter situation. The man was and is the most driven person ever, he worked in his office with only 3 walls while they built the building. I am sure the "Snyder Way" is alive and well in Manhatten, watch them play. : )Bearfan1998 said:
Bill snyder is like 90 I doubt he's telling kleinman how to coach
You have been watching too many of Dave's postgame reports if you think Snyder is controlling the reigns at KSU..FLBear5630 said:You really think he is calling the shots at KSU? You don't think the "Bill Snyder" way is the way KSU rolls, period. Snyder was so anal he picked the brand butter on meals for flights and set the route for the buses to drive. You think he doesn't have any say. KSU is like Wisky, nothing happens in Madison without Alverez's blessing.BluesBear said:KSU coach would disagree.....thales said:i completely agreeFLBear5630 said:TheAgentGrant said:
What about Blake Anderson?
First what does BU want to do? If you go young and from a lower program, there will be a learning curve. Rhule was experienced and did that curve at Temple. I think it has to be someone that can hit the ground running. The next 6 years will be important to be decent. Not the time to grow with new Coach learning P5 game.
Controlling, no. Providing a stable backstop to solve problems and mentoring? Yes. Similar to Alverez.at Wisky. Barry doesn't run the show, but his walks with Belima and Chryst were well known.BluesBear said:You have been watching too many of Dave's postgame reports if you think Snyder is controlling the reigns at KSU..FLBear5630 said:You really think he is calling the shots at KSU? He is a good fit, he fits the school, the area and the program. He is a good hire no doubt.thales said:
i normally would balk at picking up an fcs guy but klieman took his program to multiple national titles - like you mentioned
i think a guy like that is a good hire, low risk with a lot of upside
Snyder still mentors Venables. Would imagine he would continue to help out if needed. But, you guys know more about it.Bearfan1998 said:
Ya I don't think he operates that way
No issues. iIt was just speculation. I only met him once. Bowden was much more personable. My Brothers friend played FS for them in the 90's and spoke highly of KSU. My Brother worked for one of his assistants early in his career. But, I was never a Snyder or KSU fan, the guy could coach football though... He won. Anal as hell, but he won.thales said:
i never liked snyder, i remember that guy ran the score up on us. unfortunately i cannot remember the exact game and year i am thinking of but it stuck with me for a while
it wasn't until we beat them in 2012 when ksu entered the game #1 that i felt we got some payback
Aranda could use a Snyder or Alverez to mentor him. I would be all for that. If we can't get rid of him, bring Teaff in to mentor him. Recreate the team. Status quo aint' cutting it.thales said:

kind of like kim mulkey

Yes, you are right. I used the wrong phrase. Got me. You guys are literal as hell for message board conversations.Bearfan1998 said:
That's way different than calling shots
Singletary would be interesting, he is authentic as hell. Hard nosed and could get in living rooms and no one is going to blow him off. Does he have any experience Coaching? I can't imagine him Coaching a weak minded or soft team.MSMBear said:
How about Mike Singletary? RG3?

He was run out of SF - they didn't like the attitude or the Christian tilt. That same gourd of players went to the AFC Championship shortly afterwards if I remember...FLBear5630 said:Wow, I forgot thatboykin_spaniel said:

Love to see Singletary back at Baylor.
For DC? Sure. As HC? No way.MSMBear said:

You are way off. Being run out of SF had nothing to do with his attitude or faith.BluesBear said:He was run out of SF - they didn't like the attitude or the Christian tilt.FLBear5630 said:Wow, I forgot thatboykin_spaniel said:

That's a great idea. While his contract may be too expensive to fire him, nothing prevents a "CFO" (Chief of Football Operations) position from being created between Rhodes and Aranda and giving him effective control of the program. Fire the OC and DC, hire a better OC and effectively demote Aranda without having to buy him out.
But that's assuming that the AD and president are committed to playing championship football which is probably assuming a lot.
