Already has a connection with much of our coaching staff and may be able to keep Coach Hall and some experience coaching in the XII.

BOR will never approve Major Applewhite due to his relationship with a student while on staff at UT.

If he is trying to mimic what he did at Wisconsin, that's a tough task. They built up that power run program over a decade before his arrival, with Alvarez as head coach. Then Fats Bielema took over for 5-6 years, they churned through 3 guys in 3-4 years before stabilizing again with Chryst.montypython said:Chryst looks like a solid candidate to me. what about paul chryst
great run at wisconsin, fired too soon at the end imho
if guys like blake anderson and tyson helton are on the list i don't see how you cannot have a guy like chryst
Maybe he gets some looks next season
Anyways, if his plan was to do bully ball at Baylor, it would take quite a bit of development and patience. Would fans be able to weather a development period?
I think it's slightly possible to play bully ball here, if for no other reason than we pounded the tar out of North Carolina in the Russel Athletic bowl. However, that's just 1 game - not a committed attack for an entire season. Plus, that was 2015, so a full 7 years into Briles tenure. It could take equally as long to recruit and develop the OL workhorses needed for that kind of attack. Do Texas high schools even play that kind of ball? You also have to look at what your recruiting base has.

Yeah, I get it. I agree. Self righteous posers, basically.Bandito said:Yep. Just making a statement of where we are with our leadership.Robert Wilson said:Let he who is without sin throw the first stone.Bandito said:johnnychimpo said:

Indeed. That adds yet another obstacle to bully ball at Baylor. To be fair, we don't know if Chryst is even tempted to run that kind of system again. He may be smart enough to look at what a school can pull recruiting wise and adjust his plan accordingly.DAC said:jikespingleton said:I said this in a different thread but hiring a guy like Chryst would require some questions to be asked about what he wants to try and do. Interesting indeed but can you keep players on campus long enough these days to develop everything ? Maybe

What is the litmus test? Deny there is a problem, then try to cover it up and then ultimately throw everyone else under the bus to make yourself look good?Daveisabovereproach said:IowaBear said:

Bear in mind that every candidate is going to have to pass the squeaky clean southern Baptist litmus test.

Unlikely, very likely, likely, unlikely, no idea, possibly, very unlikely.Realitybites said:
Notre Dame, Florida, Arkansas, Cincy, Temple South Carolina, and Florida State could all be head coach shopping later this season.

IF Baylor were to have an opening for HC, Traylor is probably the obvious choice. Maybe not the best but the most obvious.
It's a moot point however. Unless some of the people wanting Aranda fired are BMD's willing to drop a few million dollars on the Athletic Dept, it's not gonna to happen. Regardless of the amount of the buyout, it's doubtful anyone in this board will provide the $$$$ for it to happen. This board has become fantasy football for firing the HC.
Can you post the updated list?montypython said:Chadwell is already on the listIowaBear said:

Are you serious with this post? This is a free message board for people to discuss Baylor football. Congratulations, no one on here is rich enough enough to fire your boy
It's obvious who the athletic department plants are. And anyone who doesn't think that this board is full of them is insane
This. Dont forget the trial testimony from last Fall which completely contradicted the narrative advanced here repeatedly since 2016 to the point some here accept it as true. Ian if I recall testified under oath that the leaders among the board directed him to frame Briles for the the sexual assault scandal so they can have have a scape goat. Ian refused and the board leaders told him fine then they will do it and by the way hand us your resignation. Incidentall there was board testimony as well that said that actually Briles did nothing wrong and performed his job very well including matters off the field.Bandito said:IowaBear said:

Remember who Jamey Chadwell's boss is? I'm sure in casual conversation Jamey has heard about the 2016 dumpster fire and how BOR handled it. I don't think he'll be interested in coming to BU.
How people are treated has unintended consequences.
