How do you blame Grimes when the QB can't hit an open receiver?

Because his play calling was horrendous.
What play do you call for a quarterback that's throwing the ball to the other team?

Why is this guy our only option? Who prepared and developed him? You seem to absolve the guys making Boku dollars of anything because a subpar QB they recruited can't play.
Because that's modern college football. QBs don't stick around to sit.

Robertson will probably be a good QB in a couple of years but the knock on him at Miss St and from fall practice was poor decision making, which is common with someone with essentially limited to no experience.

17 unanswered points.

2 scores for Utah were off Baylor INTs on our side.

Inexcusable.

Baylor fans are so fickle!
Which fan bases are okay with 0-2 and the way we have played last week and in the second half today?

we've played 1 good half out of 4.
The defense was great all game. They got worn down by being on the field so much in the second half. That happens when you can't get first downs.

Christ!!! C'mon! A Texas team more accustomed to Texas heat got beat and worn down by a UTAH team that had NO realistic way to prepare for. Just a better, more gritty, determined team. BU is just not good.
It's not about the heat. It's about being on the field for an entire half.
maybe the coaches shouldn't have called prevent defense, 3 over the top and give the wr's 6-12 yards of cushion and let them dink down the field. the whole second half was a run up the middle, a rollout to the right, and a 4 wide slant/posts. we didn't adapt. we couldn't change a **** defense to stop it.

if you have a lack of talent in your DB's, you don't rush 3 or 4 and make the DB's have to cover for 5+ seconds. we didn't do that in the first half and look at the results. it's just really, really bad coaching and game management. i can't explain why they do it game after game but surely mack or someone in his office sees this ***** surely.
They didn't call the prevent defense. You're just angry based on the results.

We tried to heat Johnson up on that last drive. He made plays. Credit to him.

Just got home. Effort better but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is W/L and we losses to a JV squad. Yoda gotta go

This year is going in the $*****! Actually, we'll continue to be where BU always has been mediocre at best.

Now you understand why Grimes was calling the game the way he was in the second half. He didn't want to let that guy lose the game for him. Unfortunately, he still managed to.

Person over player fellas. Yeah we lost on the field, but we're winning in the locker room. Just hang in there. Aranda will get this figured out

Yeah, team gets an Atta'boy… not two just one.

No they don't. They lost at home and had 10 yards offense in the 2nd half. Our Defensive whiz HC can't come up with a scheme to stop Utah when it mattered. This is P5, there are no attaboys. That is youth FB stuff. These guys are getting paid...

I told you guys this was going to be a close game. Gone are the days when Utah could beat up on cream puffs like Oregon, Washington and U$C. Now the real football starts.

Apparently they just beat another cream puff so not much has changed. We have fallen back to a marked "W" on our opponents calendar. I don't see how we recover this season and not sure what this does when recruiting for next. Unfortunately, we may have to change it all and start yet another three year rebuilding effort. It is painful to watch.

Not sure it's time to say CDA will get it figured out, but we competed. That's something that didn't happen last week. Win against Long Island and without it being close is necessary and possible. After Texas could still be 1-3, but it's the Texas game and in Waco so if we could even up at 2-2 we'd be finding our way back to a workable season. But that workable season still an unknown and last week never should have happened. Had they taken Texas State as seriously as they would have taken say an Alabama they wouldn't have lost. Something like last week never should have happened and that's on the coaching staff. Players too, but coaches got to get the situations set up.

BU played waaaaaaaaaay better than I was expecting after that embarrassment last week.

Last week the O was much better than the D. This week it flipped.

Who is the real Baylor team? Obviously the O might've looked different this week with Shapen.

Are you being serious? I hope not... (Can't tell these days)

The talking heads don't want to hear it, but in the NIL, super conferences era you need a guy like Deion who don't care and gets rid of who can't play or a Saban/Smart type that is a cold businessman and will do whatever it takes. You want nice guy child development coaches, we need to drop to below Sun Belt. Maybe youth football, but even there the handlers will have you off the staff if you don't win.

Aranda won't fire grimes because they're BFFs. Just clean house and start over mid season.

No assurances against Texas of course, but Texas week can be a throw records out. I can still say Aranda can design a defense and doesn't appear he's lost players. Can our offense score confidently against Texas? Will Shapen be back? Will that be good or bad? And yes 1-3 isn't acceptable. What happened at Texas State should resonate in the back of these players mind for as long as each plays for Baylor. Never allow that to happen again. Be ready and compete every week. It was winnable. It should have been won. Hope Texas State as an amazing season going forward, but still shouldn't have happened.

Don't understand why, on the last play of the game you throw it towards Utah's best CB. A guy that has repeatedly denied us the ball. But hey, what do I know.

I don't feel we're headed back to the Steele or Dave Roberts years, but I do get a solid Guy Morriss feeling with Aranda and his staff. And, unfortunately, that's not a good place to be in these tumultuous times in college football realignment.

The biggest difference is were locked in to these coaches because of stupid AD throwing other oroples money around. When we had the coaches of which you speK that wasn't a problem.

Any other football coach would be rightfully ripping that ref a new ass for that no call. Not Dave Aranda.

When are we going to accept the fact that this guy doesn't care & it rubs off on the team. He seems like a great guy & I hope he lives his absolute best life as a defensive analyst for Nick Saban & Alabama next year but it's really time for us to move on.

Not everyone is meant to be a head coach & that's okay.

I still can't figure out how our AD thought these leadership and personality traits would work with college kids. I guess he thought the Assistant Coaches would cover the motivation/inspiration/energy/encouragement piece for him.

Well, CDA did give us that unknown NY6 Bowl win, and 12 wins. No one was complaining about the big contract then.

Now, there IS a negative trend that needs to he corrected posthaste, but I'm not ready to even say they he is Morris bad/mediocre just yet. Now Grimes....Yeah....That needs to be addressed.

And for good reason. Robertson threw two terrible picks and almost had a pick-six to go with them.

Our best bet in that one was to trust the defense. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.
