The OU Daily called a number listed for Art Briles, matching the age and previous residences in Texas late Saturday.

When asked if it was Briles who picked up, the person said, "You're calling this number, you should know."

When asked if he could comment on Briles' presence at OU's game, he said:

"My presence at the game, what I thought about the game?"

When asked again if the person on the phone was Briles, the person hung up. The OU Daily texted the number after the call and received no response.

Briles was also on the field pregame. Lebby posted a picture to his Instagram story of Briles and then made it his profile picture before moving his account to private.

Good for Lebby. You don't have to fight every battle, but there are some things you just don't back down from. This is one of them.

Lebby is blessed and won't be missing any meals anytime soon if OU decides to do something stupid.

Family over Foolishness.

Last thing Venables wants is extra distractions from someone on his staff.

I'll be curious to see how this gets handled and if they allow Art on the field in the future.

Lebby is probably begging to be fired it seems. Incidentally on Twitter I have seen TCU fans and/or alums warning KB not to bring Art Briles to the sidelines. I'm actually not sure how someone could get in the sideline without HC or AD clearance.

Wasn't it at OU where a player knocked a girl out at a bar and they sent him to anger management or something?

10X better coach than Baylor has watched a football game in another state. More at 11.

Art Briles will never be a head coach at a major program.

But he can't even...
-Be an assistant on a Candian football team
-be an assistant at Grambling State
-step on the field with his family?

This is getting ridiculous with the high and mighty Pharisees. OU claiming moral high ground is rich.

Not throwing stones or maybe I am. The cultural circumstances that ultimately led to the termination of Briles were established well above his level. Briles was properly held accountable but was only one of many who turned a blind eye and allowed this to become a legacy. If y'all want to act like he's "the reason" have at
It. He was part of the problem, no doubt. But he wasn't "the" problem.

Oh really? Then guess he's now banned and won't be able catch the BU visit to Amon Carter later this year.

Just to refresh y'all's memory of the visual of the punch…OU let this guy play football after this punch and somehow has had a multi year NFL career and made millions. Hypocrisy.

Art Briles went down on the field at SMU's stadium AFTER the game to see his son-in-law and that is inexcusable?

You people need to find other things to be upset about.

Part of what problem? Accused players who were later exonerated.....accusations made that lacked enough evidence to go to trial? Coaches are expected to cooperate with authorities in cases involving student-athletes. Was there a lack of cooperation on Art's part? Was there any direct involvement in any of the alleged activities on Art's part? Was he trying to usurp the authority of the local DA in the investigation?

'Turning a blind eye' is a phrase used to describe willful negligence of activities by persons in circumstances over which another (Art in this case) has been assigned supervisory duties. In which of the duties assigned to Art for supervisory oversight, did any of the alleged activities take place?

I'm just trying to understand where the fingerprints of Art Briles are located in any of this mess and why he deserves to be ostracized.

Feel free to expound.

To be clear, he actually punched that girl broke her jaw and put her in the hospital for a cluplemof weeks Oklahoma's Nixon under stoops on video covered up by Oklahoma their president stoops and Oklahoma and college football media (and this was only one of 100 things under stoops and Oklahoma etc).

That's not nearly as bad as someone alleging they were sexually assaulted and Briles allegedly doing nothing to hunt those people down

Was Art Brile's in charge of criminal investigations for the Waco PD during the time of the alleged assaults?

It's pathetic that the media has made this guy out to be as bad as Jerry Sandusky considering he has been exonerated by Baylor AND the NCAA after years of investigations into the "rapes" on campus. The only credible case was Tevin Elliott and he was swiftly dealt with as soon as allegations were made. Sam U and Oakman were both found not guilty in trial and the other cases were unsubstantiated. Briles kicked off two of our best WRs for marijuana and yet rape is okay? The whole thing was a complete character assassination and the media and the masses had no interest in the truth. They just went along with the narrative that Briles was the biggest, willingest rape enabler in the history of sports. Joe Paterno didn't even get it this bad.
Working off this post.. in the final aftermath, who else was found not guilty or cleared.. was chafin in that group as well? Just wondering if anybody else besides tevin was convicted and i thought Sam U got convicted, just asking for clarity but dont want to dig up an long discussion to go back down this road

Fair.
I don't think he deserves to be ostracized. I think he deserved to face consequences which included losing his position at Baylor. But not a lifetime wandering the extents of earth trying to make his way. Is a man beyond redemption?

It seems that the consensus among the public is that Art was actively covering up sex crimes. I dont think the actual facts would agree but in the court of public opinion he's guilty and our BOR is to blame for that.

As far as I know, the only conviction that stuck was Tevin. Sam U was originally convicted, but overturned on appeals.

And Shawn Oakman was falsely accused and it cost him an NFL career.

100% correct. An argument could have been made that Briles needed to be fired and while I disagree I get the argument.

But Baylor didn't just fire Briles, the Baylor BOR actively and purposely with their evil truth-bending PR Firm engaged with a #metoo media frenzy to destroy one of our own to save themselves.

It is evil and I pray for God's judgment on them all.

BTW... I would take Lebby and that offense back at Baylor any day.

This makes me wonder if alot of went on back then was false, just to create an end result. I.e. places like ESPN and Texas Monthly didn't like that Baylor was winning. So, they had to create a false narrative and get Briles out of there.

Too bad we didn't just flush that entire board and start over.. it's long overdue, but I really wish the current board could put out some type of statement supportive of Briles as a person and that he doesn't deserve the knee-jerk judgment he is receiving. How did we get to the point that his presence cannot even be tolerated? That is truly sad.
