Aggie figured they couldn't take no more and fired him after a win yesterday I guess they have standards something we seem to be forgetting about

I was about to post I had heard this may happen today.

That's what schools do who want to be good at football. See Mack?

I wonder if he gets to keep the National Championship plaque

Going to be the hottest job in the country I'm sure they will take there time on the next hire

This could take Traylor off the table for us even if Baylor is going to guarantee the freedom to sign who they need and big time NIL. I'm not sure Baylor is willing to guarantee either. If not those we think of as realistic hires are not going to be realistic.

You are talking like we will be in the head coach market this year

Schools that want to be good at football don't give that contract to a mediocre ****bag of a coach.

Are you talking about us? Or A&M? Both just did the same thing with the head coach

He will be off the table next year if he is at A&M. If we have an opening this year he is likely off the table anyway even if A&M isn't interested in Traylor if we offer handcuffs on our coaches wrists and no NIL.

His point remains true… if Mack keeps Dave that symbolizes Bu gives zero ****s about playing winning or even competitive football at this point. There's AMPLE evidence to show Dave ain't it. Quite frankly there was enough info to make that conclusion after the Tx St game

Your reasoning is correct. But the financial impact is a huge factor and might dictate the timing of the change.
IowaBear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I get that, but ultimately that's on Mack's shoulders…. He gave Dave this ridiculous contract after winning with Rhules players. And it becomes more and more clear daily that the 21 team won in spite of Dave. Not because of Dave. Obviously hindsight is 20/20

A&M will still try and go with the big sexy hire.

My bet is they try and take Elko from Duke. They have been drooling over him ever since they beat a very mediocre Clemson team in week 1

Elko is a stud. They've been dealing with tons and tons of injuries this year

I know it's been said before but man Mack must've felt like a genius giving aranda that extension he thought he found the next teaff he thought he could go out of state again and find a wildcard home run hire fast forward to today it's all blown up in his face it's just funny how fast things change the media and Baylor family was oh so happy with aranda and Bernstein bear quotes old hat new hat bs they thought they finally found the perfect counterpart to drew clean cut quiet and humble

I can't see Traylor coming to Baylor, if even just some of the rumored smoke is fire - personnel interference, lack of big time NIL support, etc. A lot of potential candidates will be off the table.

Sounds like Jerry Jones hiring puppet coaches....we've seen how effective that has been the last 27 years

Norvell has FSU rolling. Same with Lanning. And both are at much much better programs. If AM had any brain cells they'd go after Klieman or Elko

Why would Kalen Daboer or Lanning leave where they are and go to A&M???

Particularly Daboer. UW is just a rung below blue blood like A&M. I know A&M thinks they are like Texas but they aren't. Anyway it is a lateral move except for the trading Seattle for College Station part and he has a great thing in Seattle right now.

aggyland is damn odd. from seattle to there would just be difficult.

that's one of aggy's biggest problems.

deep south and midwest / plains is where they need to look.

- kkm

but thank you TAMU - good for a laugh this AM.

piss away another $80M.

LOL.

Honestly, that would be the best hire of the bunch imo. He would definitely bring discipline to that program.

If they wanted to compete for the NC, save themselves another 10 year buyout, and possibly induce Saban to retire, they would offer Art Briles a 3 year deal. That offensive mind, coupled with the talent on hand, would be interesting.
