Updated story on Jimbo Fisher's impending firing: One of the most well-resourced programs in the country is in the market.
— Ross Dellenger (@RossDellenger) November 12, 2023
The total pricetag for the move - Jimbo/staff buyouts + guaranteed contract for new coach/staff - could reach $150 million.https://t.co/0P5kXpcixU
We have the language from Jimbo's contract. Assuming A&M doesn't raise $76 million to pay him off immediately (🤯), the Aggies will pay him roughly $7 million a year through 2031.https://t.co/wghzxugpse

I get that, but ultimately that's on Mack's shoulders…. He gave Dave this ridiculous contract after winning with Rhules players. And it becomes more and more clear daily that the 21 team won in spite of Dave. Not because of Dave. Obviously hindsight is 20/20
I know it's been said before but man Mack must've felt like a genius giving aranda that extension he thought he found the next teaff he thought he could go out of state again and find a wildcard home run hire fast forward to today it's all blown up in his face it's just funny how fast things change the media and Baylor family was oh so happy with aranda and Bernstein bear quotes old hat new hat bs they thought they finally found the perfect counterpart to drew clean cut quiet and humble
if they wanted to be good at football they would have never hired jimbo in the first placetpj1991 said:
That's what schools do who want to be good at football. See Mack?

i wonder if that buyout is coming out of the aggy general fund / academic operating budget
if so that means that texas taxpayers are paying for this buyout

Some do, but they hide it bathroom walls or collect exotic cars/animals rather than support football programs.Aliceinbubbleland said:thales said:

Why would Kalen Daboer or Lanning leave where they are and go to A&M???
Particularly Daboer. UW is just a rung below blue blood like A&M. I know A&M thinks they are like Texas but they aren't. Anyway it is a lateral move except for the trading Seattle for College Station part and he has a great thing in Seattle right now.

And the aggies are only wallowing in mediocrity. Id be happy if BU could reach that level.
Actually you wouldn't. We are horrible to be sure, but if we went 7-6, 8-5, 6-7, 7-6 over the next four seasons, people here would be losing their *****
I'd be happy with 11-2, 12-1, 10-3, etc.
I would not be happy with what you listed. Who can be happy with mediocrity?

Something I don't understand about Barnett's comments. He says they are paying him $7mm per year thru 2031, but Aggie might pay him $76mm up front? Why would Aggie want to pay him more up front than they are paying overtime, which would be $56mm plus what is left on this season?whitetrash said:boognish_bear said:We have the language from Jimbo's contract.
