The statute of frauds has passed on ANY claims that people may have against Briles, so legally, there is nothing A&M should be afraid of. It makes total economic and legal sense at this point to hire Briles. They should do it.

As I've mentioned, I left my wife back in 2016 over a dispute about Briles and at first I was skeptical of whether I'd made the right decision. But as I read the 23rd Amendment and learned about the statute of frauds and how the time element associated with that works, I knew that eventually Briles would be vindicated.

I went 12-2 my senior year. I was on a victorious team for 12 games.

10-1 in regular season. 2-1 in post season.

Cotton Bowl - lost 30-2
Hula Bowl - won 24-17
Japan Bowl - won 25-13
Funny, what I get from that is you got 2 nice trips. Congratulations, if you guys were better you may have gotten to Shreveport...

I don't expect much from the "strawman argument clan", so your response does not surprise me. I never said Briles never won big games. I said we lost some of the biggest ones and that is a fact.


The game in stoolwater was absolutely big, because if we win that game we go to the BCS Championship game. However, after getting thumped, we were out.

We ended up going to the Fiesta Bowl - our biggest bowl invite in decades and lost to a G5 team because of bad defense and special teams.

We went to the Cotton Bowl the next year - an even bigger stage than the Fiesta and lost due to bad defense and special teams.

Art let West Virginia hang 70 on us in 2012. 70. How does that happen? 10 TDs in one game?

Oklahoma St. clipped us with 59 in 2011. 55 in 2010. 49 in 2013. OSU loved playing Art & Phil!

UT drilled us with 56 in 2012.

A&M pummeled us with 55 in 2011. 42 in 2010.

TCU hammered home 49 on us in 2012.

Texas Tech got in 45 on us in 2010.

OU 44 in 2015. 42 in 2012.

West Virginia loved playing us too. 41 in 2014.

And those are just the losses. To win a few games by just a few points we had to score 66, 61, 50, 48 & 47.

Before Briles, yes. Go look at his classes 2012+. 5 or so 4*s and a 5* mixed in once in awhile.

Before Art? A bunch of 2s and 3s and several 'Not Rated's'.

Look, we all know Briles didn't hide rape - however, focusing solely on that means you cannot see the forest from the trees.

Briles would not have been scapegoated unless there was enough to pin on him - and there certainly was plenty to pin on him.. You cannot scapegoat a guy who runs a clean ship. You can scapegoat a guy who does not. Bries was incapable of providing leadership in areas that it mattered - discipline and accountability. Instead both him and Ian just tried to hide stuff and make it go away. Shoot, even a BOI member said that when they asked Briles what he would do to instill accountability and clean up things, he had no answer. That alone is all you need to know.

With everything going over a period of years, it wasn't that much of a stretch to lie and say he hid or didn't report sexual assault. He made himself an easy target and I feel that is why the BOI decided to throw him under the bus.

Even if we cannot agree that Briles was a poor leader in areas of discipline and accountability, there is a concrete truth that some people on this board still have not come to terms with: Briles isn't coming back and no one outside of some Baylor fans thinks he is innocent.

No, it's to remind everyone why we have a terrible football coach and program. It's our leadership that's at fault more than Aranda or anyone else. They're morons
No one that has watched the past season and a half needs to be reminded that we suck.

If the purpose of bringing up never never land threads about Briles coming back to save us is to show our leadership that they are dumb - that is a massive failure. There are much better ways to get something done - and posting on a fanboard isn't it.

No, posting on BF and on sicem about Briles the savior and martyr doesn't do anything but cause fights between Baylor fans that want to move on and those that want to live in the past.

Cannot take that away from them.

I'm not a fan of comparing different eras - the SWC and Big 12 are completely different. The rules are different and the schedules are different.

The SWC teams only played 8 conference games. Big 12 started playing 9 in 2011.

That extra game could be the difference between an undefeated conference season and having a loss.

Deep down inside everyone's mind we know that's gone and realistically struggle to ever return. Then, we could hold our head up against anyone, we could compete, banter etc. SCOREBOARD!!!

It's over and it's hard to let go. The ****show we have now just turns the knife in our side.

No. We lost all of them.

TBH, he left out quite a few of the ass beatings that we took from 2010-2015. I count 18 losses where the crap defense took a beating. 14 for bennett and 4 for norwood (2010 was norwood)

Weird… during that "ass beating" stretch we had two 11 win seasons. Two 9 win seasons and an 8-5 campaign where we ended KSU title hopes. We also won 2 B12 titles during that stretch. The lengths people go in order to try an discredit the best stretch of BU football is strange. Perhaps you should direct your hatred towards our current product which is utter garbage

Briles had BU in the National Championship discussion, for an extended time. Since we have been hit and miss, more miss than hit.

Nobody is winning the National Championship at Baylor anytime soon. Let's get back into the National Championship discussion and then worry about blowing leads in the CFP or the Orange Bowl.

Right now, the best thing to say about Baylor Football is that we are consistent enough to take the Under and bet on our opponents giving points. Not a good place.

I continue to be amazed at the Forever Briles postings, but shouldn't be surprised. Hey, I love ME TV too. Great reruns. But does anyone really believe his style of play and the style that made him the coaching "legend" at Stephenville and Baylor would be successful today? I understand the need to retort with "he'll adjust to the modern game", but while some of his coaching tree are still in the game, none have been able to successfully re-create the Baylor offense and I'm not sure any have really tried. I'm not saying Lebby, Lil Briles, Montgomery haven't had success, but that success is not due to the wide open, up tempo, exciting brand of offense that made Briles a guru. Would Art have the same success as he did from 2010-2015? I have my doubts. One thing I don't doubt is that his CFB coaching days are over (right or wrong).
