I'm getting the feeling we are going to ride with Aranda for another year....but if we are not we need to go ahead make the move sooner rather than later so we aren't looking at leftover candidates.

Miss St could go after Fritch at Tulane.

We should get moving before too many good names are off the board.

Have a feeling that Jeff Traylor is going to get snatched up soon.. Question is; will he leave Texas.

Exactly. There has to be a lot more going on other than just wins/losses. Trouble with donors, other staff, treatment of players, etc. for them to fire him after he took over a tough, tough situation.

I think there was some kerfuffle regarding staff. Maybe Arnett tried to can a number of guys Leach had just gotten extensions for, and there was a general lack of cohesion.

I know he's been subpar at UCLA and this was supposed to be a pretty good year for them. Just figured if he could go 8-4 they'd give him another year. Not like UCLA was great prior to his arrival.

UCLA has been underwhelming since 1998, which, coincidentally was the last time they won the P10.

I think Chip was hurt at UCLA because he didn't have any of the guys from his Oregon staff from back in 2009-12 or whatever the years were. I know he missed Mark Helfrich, who was his OC at Oregon during Chip's run there as HC. Helfrich actually took over once Chip bounced to the NFL and Helfrich won 33 games his first 3 years, but the wheels fell off defensively in year three and the wheels on the program fell off in his 4th year, so he was canned.

Helfrich may be a good pickup for someone as an OC - I think he is a sports analyst at Fox..

The major difference was he took over an Oregon team that was winning almost every year since the late 90s and at UCLA a team that wasn't.

I thought he hadn't been there that long so looked it up.... and he has been there the same time as aranda and his record there almost mirrors DA's
