This is all meaningless because in 9 months Dave will be out of a job and will be starting over again.
Keeping him for this lame duck season was the dumbest thing Mack could have done. Stevie Wonder can see that Dave isn't it yet our own AD can't seem to admit this and cut ties
Probably correct

This is what happens when you have a HC who shows zero energy or fight. This is what happens when you have a poor NIL structure. This is what happens when the fanbase and brand doesn't grow even after double-digit win seasons and Big 12 titles. I mean we downsized our football stadium after winning a Big 12 title. We downsized our arena after winning a Natty...

Aranda needs to be fired. Baylor needs someone who can coach, develop, has high energy, and can recruit at a high level. This is going to continue to happen with Dave as the HC. There is no reason Cincy, Houston, Iowa State, BYU, ASU, or Kansas should EVER be recruiting better than Baylor.
Our recruiting is not. the. problem. Unless you're expecting us to recruit at Ohio State top 10 national levels, Dave's classes are historically on the upper edge of the Baylor recruiting curve, like, all-time. Even with this cat decommitting for a class that won't be finalized for another 10 months. Flips like this happen every day. No recruit is solid on any program, the Georgias of the world included (Dylan Raiola anyone), until signing day.

Our problems are overwhelmingly schematic and gameday-related. Dave has had the roster talent to have winning seasons every year. A mixture of bad coordinator hires, naive head coaching and lack of identifiable identity have been his bugbears. Not whatever dumb handwringing is going on in this thread.

Folks, notice how the sunshine pumpers will never call out Dave. All of his problems are solely the fault of his coordinators, the fan base, lack of support, lack of money, or lack of identity, all of which culminates into a very minor 'Buggabear' and aren't fireable offenses for which a head coach is responsible. And if you do hold a coach responsible for the aforementioned offenses, you'll be accused of "hand wringing". Y'all make so many excuses for Dave Aranda. He is a multi million dollar head coach in his fifth year at a P5 program, not a highschooler training to be a fry cook at Taco Bell.
What exactly are you disagreeing with Parch about? He(?) didn't say that Aranda wasn't an issue.

He is simply stating that Baylor's recruiting is not the issue - 247 data shows that that statement is quantifiably correct - and that posters claiming that Baylor's recruiting is not essentially among the best it's been in recent memory in terms of average recruit rating are quantifiably incorrect according to the same source. That's literally it, and, of course, since we all agree that facts should carry more weight than feelings, there is not much else to drill into on that specific topic.

By the way, according to the Oklahoma State folks, there is widespread talk in our current recruiting class about Dave being on the hot seat, and it absolutely influenced this kids decision. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he's failing at his job despite what some on this site want to believe

Not surprised. He wants to follow in those family footsteps.

Waiting for all the "not a loss" comments to follow.
Most of family went to TCU.
That explains your shortcomings

There may be some people who can't see it or refuse to acknowledge it, but program direction is hard to argue with.

And that direction has been progressively worse each year...

Who are all of these ardent Dave Aranda supporters you keep referring to? Are they in the room with us right now?

Pretty much everyone on this board was ready for a new coach by the end of last season. Pretty much everyone here agrees we will -- and should -- have a new one next season if 2024 doesn't go well.

In an all-too-common tactic across all realms of modern society, you seem to have constructed a bogeyman, multiplied it by several orders of magnitude in your head and accused everyone who's not as perpetually angry as you of either being one or supporting its imaginary mission as some sort of weird rallying cry.

Almost everyone here disagreed with Mack's decision to give Aranda an extra season. But it's done. Either the experiment works or it doesn't. And if it fails, we move on to at least a new football coach, maybe a new AD as well.

The state of play here is pretty simple. You don't have to be angry or create imaginary foils anymore. Just wait and watch. That's all any of us can do. 2024 should be a win-win as far as Dave Aranda's concerned. Either he turns the program around, which (however unlikely) is a good thing thing for Baylor and its fans, or we hire a better coach next year, which will restore hope to the program and its fans.

Just relax a little. This, too, shall pass.

I rarely if ever followed commitments as it always seemed like a waste of time tracking the whims of 18 year olds.

With NIL and the portal, there is zero to get excited about on the entire recruiting front.

Even if a guys signs on the dotted line with a program, he can portal out.
On a serious not, it'll be interesting to see if a second tier conference with second tier teams/players can form Alpha Dogs that can be ranked along with SEC & Big10. Hope i live long enough to see if it's possible.
