An interesting aspect of Baylor - Colorado is that Colorado's defensive pass scheme is very similar to Utah's.
— Travis Roeder (@Travis_Roeder) September 17, 2024
A ton of aggressive man with single high, daring you to beat them outside.
Baylor massively struggled with this against Utah.
WRs have to win, OL must pass protect.
Torched our secondary? Rising averaged 6.6 yards per attempt on 57.1 percent passing and led one touchdown drive. And that was with the 28-yard reverse being called a pass.Big12Fan2024 said:
Foolish to put any money on this game. Still too many unknown variables. We still haven't played an offense with any semblance of talent except the first quarter of the Utah game when Cam Rising torched our secondary so a good portion of our fan base is about to find out the D has improved since last year but is in no way the shutdown defense that many of them believe.
Shedeur will throw for more than 350 against us Saturday and as bad as our safeties are and as slow as all the linebackers (except Keaton) are in pass coverage it will result in a lot of points.
On the flip side we should be able to zip up and down the field at will against Colorado's D as long as Coach Knucklehead doesn't come up with a children's story that tells him Finn shouldn't lose his job due to an injury. Sawyer will throw as many holes through CU's D as Shedeur does through our's. The only difference is that Sawyer's will be mid-range open throws while Shedeur wil uncork 2 or 3 65+ yarders. And Washington shows enough of a burst that he should add up some yardage running the ball.
Final score will probably be in 35-45 point range.
Utah has good defensive players playing consistent, sound football. Colorado doesn't.boognish_bear said:An interesting aspect of Baylor - Colorado is that Colorado's defensive pass scheme is very similar to Utah's.

COL is not hard to scheme, hit Shadeur often and hard. Make Travis come up and tackle, a lot on big backs. Wear him down on D. If they want to play him 123 plays a game, make ALL of them hurt. I run at Travis all day, make him force the run.Robert Wilson said:
Colorado is bad. Aranda can scheme up a defense. And he finally seems angry. I think we're gonna go kick their ass.
𦬠@DeionSanders pigeon-tossed me for asking how they might prepare for potential rain in the forecast.

Says, not a significant enough of a chance for him to allocate practice time for something that might not happen. Says, βhow about we do drills that say it wonβt rain?β pic.twitter.com/9Tltju4OGp

He is not a culture fit for UF, believe it or not CU is more of a culture fit. UF fans and boosters are old school SEC. Hell, one of their fight songs is "We Are the Boys from Old Florida" played by the Pride of the Sunshine Band. The "Bull Gator" boosters are as good old boy as you get. And they are proud of it.boognish_bear said:FLBear5630 said:UF is NOT hiring Deion Sanders.boognish_bear said:

I agree. I was really surprised when I saw those betting odds for him.
He was able to win at Jackson St⦠but that probably had more to do with having a roster with some P5 talent at the FCS level than his coaching ability.
I guess he does bring program upside with hype and attention⦠but none of that is going to matter if he can't win games.

No better way to showcase the new #NotebookLM podcast feature (despite some fumbles on poor name pronunciations) than to use the CU/BU game threads on the @SicEm365 public boards as sources...This took literally 2 min to create.π€― @Baylor @BUFootball Fam... enjoy! ;) #SicEm pic.twitter.com/tEXhEaeZ4y

They beat a then-ranked Kansas team and are undefeated. That will do it this early in the season.montypython said:

They could surprise - if they beat Nebraska, they may need to only win one of PSU, Michigan and Oregon in order to make the playoffs (assuming they win their other games). It's early in the season, but we will see.historian said:
I would like to see them beat Penn State, Oregon, & both Michigan teams. But I don't expect they will. It would be great if they were the only Big 10 team in the playoffs. Of course, that won't happen.
