I'm going to laugh when Shadeur loses his composure after his third sack on the way to CU losing by three scores.
I'd love to see that

Foolish to put any money on this game. Still too many unknown variables. We still haven't played an offense with any semblance of talent except the first quarter of the Utah game when Cam Rising torched our secondary so a good portion of our fan base is about to find out the D has improved since last year but is in no way the shutdown defense that many of them believe.

Shedeur will throw for more than 350 against us Saturday and as bad as our safeties are and as slow as all the linebackers (except Keaton) are in pass coverage it will result in a lot of points.

On the flip side we should be able to zip up and down the field at will against Colorado's D as long as Coach Knucklehead doesn't come up with a children's story that tells him Finn shouldn't lose his job due to an injury. Sawyer will throw as many holes through CU's D as Shedeur does through our's. The only difference is that Sawyer's will be mid-range open throws while Shedeur wil uncork 2 or 3 65+ yarders. And Washington shows enough of a burst that he should add up some yardage running the ball.

Final score will probably be in 35-45 point range.
Torched our secondary? Rising averaged 6.6 yards per attempt on 57.1 percent passing and led one touchdown drive. And that was with the 28-yard reverse being called a pass.

Utah has good defensive players playing consistent, sound football. Colorado doesn't.

Yeah. Rising was 8-14 for 92 yards. Not exactly torching.

Colorado is bad. Aranda can scheme up a defense. And he finally seems angry. I think we're gonna go kick their ass.
COL is not hard to scheme, hit Shadeur often and hard. Make Travis come up and tackle, a lot on big backs. Wear him down on D. If they want to play him 123 plays a game, make ALL of them hurt. I run at Travis all day, make him force the run.

Line had gotten up to +2....this morning it has dropped to +1.5.

Not sure if that's in response to the injury news Stefano shared above.

UF is NOT hiring Deion Sanders.

The only other college job Sanders would want prombably is FSU which also may open up this year. That said, I'm not sure he would be a real candidate there. He actually isnt doing that great at CU. They are better under him but it is so far an improvement on the level of Morriss' improvement from Steele here thus far except with alot of national hype. National hype is worth something though.

Gainesville is 90 miles north of me. Here is what their newspaper that covers them 365/24/7 says:

7 candidates on my mind for Florida Gators

1. Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss): Kiffin would be the closest thing to the second coming of Steve Spurrier. He's a wonder for Ole Miss. His high-scoring offenses and "Portal King" ways would be a 180-degree pivot from Napier. Trouble is, he's been too good. The Rebels probably are bound for the playoff. Also, Kiffin is well-compensated by Ole Miss, and he's got a well-oiled NIL machine. Good luck stealing him away.

2. Eliah Drinkwitz (Missouri): Drinkwitz's career is red-hot. He's won 14 of his past 16 games, and he's skillfully navigated the NIL landscape to make the Tigers a player. He built Missouri into a playoff contender. His trash-talking personality would provide a livelier ride than the Napier experience. Best-case scenario for Florida if it desires Drink: Missouri goes 10-2 but gets snubbed by the playoff committee.

3. Jedd Fisch (Washington): He's a Florida alumnus who, many moons ago, worked as a graduate assistant for Steve Spurrier. He knows offense and transformed Arizona's program before flying the coop for Washington. He left a Heisman-caliber quarterback at Arizona for the Huskies, so why not leave UW for his alma mater?

4. Alex Golesh (South Florida): Golesh, 40, is the youngest coach listed here. He's never been a Power Four coach. That doesn't mean he'd be Napier 2.0. He'd come with the Josh Heupel playbook that's made Tennessee a success. Golesh runs the warp-speed spread offense the Vols use. He was Heupel's coordinator at UCF and Tennessee.

5. Lance Leipold (Kansas): The Jayhawks won't make the playoff, so Leipold would be available. He's a respected program builder who won at places where success doesn't come easily (Buffalo, Kansas). Trouble is, Kansas (1-2) might be headed for a losing season. That would strip Leipold of some cachet.

6. Andy Kotelnicki (Penn State offensive coordinator): He's one of the nation's highest-regarded offensive coordinators. A longtime Leipold aide, he steered KU's offense to great success the past two seasons. Early returns at Penn State look promising. Some program will take a chance on Kotelnicki as a head coach. But would Florida risk a guy with no head coaching experience after Napier's flop?

7. Jamey Chadwell (Liberty): Chadwell, a career winner, took what Hugh Freeze left at Liberty and made it better. Like others on this list, he's sharp-witted on offense. The risk: He's never worked any position on a Power Four staff.

I agree. I was really surprised when I saw those betting odds for him.

He was able to win at Jackson St… but that probably had more to do with having a roster with some P5 talent at the FCS level than his coaching ability.

I guess he does bring program upside with hype and attention… but none of that is going to matter if he can't win games.

He is not a culture fit for UF, believe it or not CU is more of a culture fit. UF fans and boosters are old school SEC. Hell, one of their fight songs is "We Are the Boys from Old Florida" played by the Pride of the Sunshine Band. The "Bull Gator" boosters are as good old boy as you get. And they are proud of it.

I cannot see Deion walking the sidelines.

They are getting butts in seats and eyeballs on TV screens. Both mean lots of money. If the program becomes a dumpster fire then the shine will probably wear off. They still need to win a lot of games for the hype to pay off. That won't start this week.

They beat a then-ranked Kansas team and are undefeated. That will do it this early in the season.

But KU has Grimes, that should unrank them right there.

I would like to see them beat Penn State, Oregon, & both Michigan teams. But I don't expect they will. It would be great if they were the only Big 10 team in the playoffs. Of course, that won't happen.

They could surprise - if they beat Nebraska, they may need to only win one of PSU, Michigan and Oregon in order to make the playoffs (assuming they win their other games). It's early in the season, but we will see.
