If they hadn't given the game to Bama late with some stupid plays they would only have 2 losses and be the one in playoff talk instead of Bama.

A Georgia loss opens the door for 5 SEC teams to potentially make the playoff, so everyone should be rooting for that not to happen.
I thought the Georgia scare at Kentucky early in the year was just a one off but it has become pretty apparent they are just a good team. Not a great one.

Great teams regularly drop games to lesser opponents, but the bigger issue is that a Georgia loss today opens the door for the potential of Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and the winner of Alabama/LSU to all make the playoffs.
Half those teams will have three losses by season's end. But, by all means, fluff away until then.

Have you even looked at their schedules or is this hot take based on feelings? If half of those teams don't have 3 losses before the SEC title game, we can revisit this take.

Nevertheless, 5 two loss SEC teams going into the SEC title game is now on the table based on current standings and remaining schedules, and a 3rd loss for the SEC title game loser probably won't leave them out. The fact that's it's even possible in the second week of November is worth identifying given how unlikely it is across the other conferences.

I was thinking about that during the game. Especially after what we did to Tech

Starting to look back at this season and realize that we havent done as bad as I thought at one time. We could have beat Utah if Aranda had put in Sawyer, we almost beat Top 10 8-0 BYU, we came within 2 seconds of beating 7-2 Colorado and so on...

Watching this game it is crazy to think that TCU was in the CFP final 2 years ago and OSU has 18 consecutive years of making a bowl. Crazy how quickly programs can fall off the rails.

Yes, one of Alabama or LSU will have three losses after tonight, and one of Tennessee and Georgia is losing next week. Then, one of Texas or Texas A&M is losing on the 30th.

And given that there may not be a single one-loss SEC team by season's end, someone could be taking a third loss in the SEC title game.

That means all of those teams had better avoid an upset around those games, and we have a season worth of data that suggests that's unlikely.

If Lagway's back, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ole Miss lose next week at Florida.

If A&M and Texas keep winning and Tennessee loses @ Georgia the Nov 30th Texas/Texas A&M game at Kyle will have the top two teams in the SEC facing off. How crazy is that.

As usual, when I fired up the espn streaming app, if an sec team was playing it was listed first. At one point today I had to swipe past 3-4 sec matchups just to see if other football existed.

Watching the sorry ass team that is Ok St.

For some reason after the OK St WR went out of bounds, the clock kept running. I guess they just want this game to hurry up and end.

Delete the ESPN app and get the Yahoo sports app. Way better...quicker...less wonky.

This was my very earlier in this thread. It may not be likely, but it's not outside of realm of possibilities for 5 of those teams to have two losses going into the postseason. In such an event, it seems unlikely that the committee would leave any of those 5 such teams out to the benefit of the other conferences.

Could you imagine the blowback from the rest of the NCAA if that happened?

I have to admit that as the season has played out and knowing what we have seen, the whorns have destroyed the teams they were supposed to destroy (except for Miss State).
However they were given a gift wrapped SEC schedule on a silver platter this year. Yes, Georgia was a tough one, but even they seem pretty damn mortal this year. No Bama, no LSU, and no Ole Miss. Really? I guess Stankey was smart enough to know that helping the golden cow into the playoffs would be good for the SEC as whole. Won't be long before the whorns actually are running that league.
