If they hadn't given the game to Bama late with some stupid plays they would only have 2 losses and be the one in playoff talk instead of Bama.boognish_bear said:

Texas is the best team in the SEC

Oregon is the best team in the Big 10
BYU is the best team in the Big 12
SMU is the best team in the ACC

A Georgia loss opens the door for 5 SEC teams to potentially make the playoff, so everyone should be rooting for that not to happen.
Great teams regularly drop games to lesser opponents, but the bigger issue is that a Georgia loss today opens the door for the potential of Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and the winner of Alabama/LSU to all make the playoffs.
I was thinking about that during the game. Especially after what we did to Techboognish_bear said:
That Hail Mary loss in boulder keeps on stinging
SMU gets no ACC media revenue (and won’t for a long time). They are the only ACC team remaining that is undefeated in conference.

Watching this game it is crazy to think that TCU was in the CFP final 2 years ago and OSU has 18 consecutive years of making a bowl. Crazy how quickly programs can fall off the rails.boognish_bear said:

Yes, one of Alabama or LSU will have three losses after tonight, and one of Tennessee and Georgia is losing next week. Then, one of Texas or Texas A&M is losing on the 30th.Aberzombie1892 said:bear2be2 said:Half those teams will have three losses by season's end. Have you even looked at their schedules or is this hot take based on feelings? If half of those teams don't have 3 losses before the SEC title game, we can revisit this take.
Nevertheless, 5 two loss SEC teams going into the SEC title game is now on the table based on current standings and remaining schedules, and a 3rd loss for the SEC title game loser probably won't leave them out. The fact that's it's even possible in the second week of November is worth identifying given how unlikely it is across the other conferences.

As usual, when I fired up the espn streaming app, if an sec team was playing it was listed first. At one point today I had to swipe past 3-4 sec matchups just to see if other football existed.
This is one of the greatest QB box score matchups ever

This is very possible

10-2 Ole Miss
10-2 Georgia
10-2 Tennessee
10-2 Texas
10-2 Texas A&M
10-2 LSU or Alabama.
What the hell do we do then?

Could you imagine the blowback from the rest of the NCAA if that happened?Aberzombie1892 said:This was my very earlier in this thread. It may not be likely, but it's not outside of realm of possibilities for 5 of those teams to have two losses going into the postseason. In such an event, it seems unlikely that the committee would leave any of those 5 such teams out to the benefit of the other conferences.boognish_bear said:This is very possible

Delete the ESPN app and get the Yahoo sports app. Way better...quicker...less wonky.
