There's a lesson in Physics that will be delivered January 1.

Typical SEC selfishness.

Several LSU players are already quitting the team to jump ship, go pro, or just quit. Hopefully Baylor can keep their offense going for this game.

Have a feeling our 1st team will be playing their 2nd and 3rd string. Oh well, still need to stomp the Tigers!

This should be a W for the bears.

I'm guessing someone on here was involved in this. It was near the the end of the 85 Liberty Bowl, 2-3 guys were walking the bottom row of the stadium with a sign showing to the cameras. It said LSU. As soon as the camera showed it, the L folded in a and an X unfolded from the back.

A couple observations after watching the 85 game
1) what's with the D line playing so far off the ball?
2) our linebackers let you know you'd been hit. They brought a load

First of all, way cool to see this. Was a sophomore at the time and man that brought back some good memories of Baylor football.
As for the D line being that far off the ball, I think part if that was D tackles were coached to read and react. In other words, watch where the guard's helmet is going and cut him off before he gets on your linebacker. It SUCKED to be a D lineman in that era. You were basically an O lineman for your linebacker to get all the glory.

Only opponent BU has played multiple times in a bowl.

Strange that LSU is only 1 state over and we have not played them much at all in our 120+ year history of football

"I had heard about painting everything green. But I don't exactly know what that means. I never heard details about the campaign."

When Beall arrived, his fundraising efforts left us with just enough to paint the press box area light green. Three years later, when Teaff arrived, we raised enough for astroturf and a $50K weight room. My, things have changed.

Mizzou and Iowa are contiguous, but are in the Music City Bowl for only their second meeting since 1910.

Depends on what those 2nd and 3rd strings can do. The Georgia second stringer QB that had hardly played didn't do to bad against UT.

Funny considering the SEC's motto is "It just means more"

I guess they should add "unless it doesn't"

Georgia's second and third teamers handled us pretty well in the sugar bowl in 2019. Then those kids went on to win the natty 2 years later.

We've never played ULL that I can recall. But I do remember them taking down a highly ranked Aggy team the first year of the Big 12.

We played LA Tech quite a bit in the 80s & 90s.

If you have team full of mercenaries, they will jump ship when a better opportunity comes along.

No bagging on the players - they went to LSU to get paid and get a chance to play in the NFL. Nothing wrong with that. But if playing in a bowl game doesn't further that, they aren't interested

What a strange take on things.

Guys opt out of meaningless bowl games and guys go to the portal and the sec isn't the only conference that deals with that.

I'm not sure how many of those 12 so far were starters this past year. Just looking at the list one was a back up QB and another is a kicker.

The other dudes… I can't tell if they were starters or not.

Bowl games are only "meaningless" for certain players.

Colorado has two future first-round picks and both are playing in their bowl game.

Just because we've normalized quitting before seasons are over doesn't mean that's the right or sensible thing to do. And the teams that recruit and develop players who want to compete and play football should get more credit for doing so. They're the ones who are doing it right.

While it's true Georgia had multiple players opt out of that Sugar Bowl, it wasn't all "second and third teamers" we were facing (for one they had their starting QB as I recall). If LSU has anywhere near the number of starters sit out that sat out the last time they played in the Texas Bowl against KSU we should be thoroughly embarrassed if we lose the game.

Three road losses

@unranked Georgia 17-14
@#12 Arkansas 20-14
@unranked Texas 17-10

The most points given up that season by Baylor was to Houston in a 24-21 Baylor win.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-odds-picks-predictions-for-2024-25-bowl-season-playoffs-model-backs-michigan-lsu/

Another prediction: LSU (-3) cruises to a blowout win over Baylor in the Texas Bowl at 3:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 31. The Tigers suffered a costly three-game losing streak from late October to mid November, but they were able to respond with wins over Vanderbilt and Oklahoma to wrap up the regular season. Junior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier completed 22 of 31 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-17 win against the Sooners, helping the Tigers easily cover the spread as 6-point favorites.

Nussmeier completed 63.7% of his passes for 3,735 yards and 26 touchdowns in the regular season, while running backs Caden Durham and Josh Williams combined for more than 1,000 rushing yards and 11 scores. Baylor rattled off a six-game winning streak to close the campaign, but the Bears lost to all three ranked opponents they faced this season. SportsLine's model does not expect them to hold up against a strong SEC opponent in this matchup, as the Tigers are covering the spread in well over 70% of simulations.
