Zero pass rush

Everyone saw the horrid secondary play - it was impossible to miss and it's been bad all year.

What really stuck out to me was the lack of pass rush. We put almost zero pressure on LSU's QB tonight.

We can bring in the best DBs the portal has to offer and it's not going to help much if our secondary is required to cover guys for +6 seconds every play.

Also, Sawyer looked off and we had very good protection for him tonight, so it wasn't from being harassed by the defense.

i am not sure how many snaps lsu's offense took tonight but i would be surprised if we picked up more than 4 hurries all night

it was that bad

Been like this all year. We always have to bring blitzes to get any pressure. We hardly ever get pressure rushing 4.

MOUNTAIN WEST Boise State players looked bigger and stronger than BU's defense. Our Strength and Conditioning might be partly the issue. Or… maybe we're just that bad.

It's recruiting.

S&C is fine.

Listen to the post game interview. They said they were having to drop line backers and safety's into coverage due to secondary getting beat 1 on 1 so badly.

LSU has a great 2 deep O-line and hard to generate a pass rush with 3 D-linemen who are also playing with a Iight box and trying to keep contain.

It's definitely not Dave's coaching. Don't anyone dare say that or I'll scream

Yes - the secondary personnel are just not P4 level talent - nice gents I'm sure - but the talent level in the d backfield cost us a lot this year. I have been trying to figure out exactly what it is - I used to think they were out of position, bad angles etc - and there is some of that - but they give great effort - but I now I just think most of them are too slow and too small to be successful at this level.

I'm pretty sure the coach knows that. Go look at the recruiting class… furthermore you bring in a guy that decides to let his grades slip thus missing the bowl game

If only Baylor had some kind of defense coaching guru on the staff they could fix all that and really kick some arse.

The pass rush was decent this year when Steve Linton was playing. He missed several games including LSU and it really showed up. Great talent but not very dependable. The offense really missed Trigg too.

Yeah, those absences both hurt a lot.

But of course, as we were told dozens of times, "LSU was short handed..."

The defensive game plans have been sound all year…..as Dave has said before he runs the defense out personnel allows him to.

Need more horses….especially on the line.
