That resembles March Madness. Remember when only one blue got into the Final Four and won it all? Three teams made it that far without ever having been there before. It was fun, exciting, & chaotic. That's what the football playoffs should be like too.

I'm not complaining … just making an observation. Anything that makes it possible for Baylor to make the playoffs is fine with me. It will be fun for the game. This is a year where I think even teams that didn't make the playoffs could have made a splash. I'm not sure if that will be the case in future years, but it seems parity is here to stay.

Why not just have a 64-team, 4 division (regional) NFL-prep league and cut out all this voting nonsense? Completely remove the emotional bias from the equation.
Too many games.

They need to expand to 16 teams and do away with conf champ games. Notre Dame doesnt have to play one so they're at an advantage. Just take the team with the best record in the conference as the winner and seed accordingly. The money will be made up by having another round of cfp games.

Guess who else didn't have to play one?

Ohio State.

Agree. And also true that Mountain West and ACC had no business in that bracket.

The Big10 is legit this year but really, Ohio State is even better than they usually are this year.
I think this year will produce the weakest national champion (at least by credentials) we've had in a long time.

If Notre Dame wins, we'd have a champion that didn't have to play a traditional conference grind or conference championship game and a team that lost to N. Illinois.

If Ohio State wins, we'd have a team with 2 regular season losses that didn't make its conference championship game and a team that might not have even been included in the 4 team national championship playoff of previous years.
It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. That's the beauty of a playoff. The winners earn their spots in a win-or-go-home format.

Ohio State and Notre Dame proved themselves with three impressive playoff wins over high-level opponents. Biases and preconceptions no longer play any role in this process. It's beautiful.

I wasn't criticizing. I was observing & agreeing. I think the cfb playoffs should resemble March Madness as much as possible.

The champion Monday will have earned it, just like every basketball champion does in April.

And that's all most fans have ever asked for.

The thing I love most about this playoff is it has allowed me to enjoy games between teams I don't care for. When there's never any doubt that the teams playing have earned the opportunities they're getting, you can just sit back and enjoy watching a high-stakes football game between two quality teams. That's harder to do when agendas and biases are setting up the matchups rather than on-field performance.

When I first read the title, I was thinking NY Yankees and I was wondering how that tied into sec bs.
