Yeah, cause the NFL is lacking in black guys. Skip is terrible and a huge butt kisser that will say anything to get attention. Never understood why people would tune in to him and Shannon Sharpe screaming their opinions at each other

The only thing I can think of as to why the browns took him after drafting another QB is this:

1. Watson is their guy for this year with Pickett or Flacco as primary backup.
2. Flacco is a good guy for the young ones to learn from, especially on the throwing, reading defenses, when to throw it away, and other non running aspects.
3. Pickett is a good option for a two or 3 or maybe to trade away for a late round pick or something and they know he will not be around at the start of the season.
4. If Sanders has a good preseason maybe a team will throw some good options in a trade for him.
5. If he works then he is a cheap option and they can trade Gabriel away.
6. If he doesn't work then they can show the rest of the league/ fans why he dropped from a possible first round guy to 5th.
7. They know that Flacco has one or two years left and they might be planning to let him go after this season and then they have two young guys as backups to replace Watson in a few seasons.

Is it normal to have like four professional cameramen standing around presumably for 3 days waiting to film your reaction.

It's not completely unprecedented. Believe the Redskins took Kirk cousins in the same draft as RGIII. I think the Falcons took Matt Schaub along with Michael Vick, but I would have to go back and check.

Really this is my view of ANY sports talk show for the last 20+ years. I thought they were fun to watch at first, even new concepts like Around the Horn but eventually I realized most of them did not truly know anything better than others and it was 90% opinions based on data and that they get paid to watch hours and hours of sports and only about 10% actual knowledge of predicting, analyzing, etc. and I stopped watching sports talk shows long ago.

Even former players or coaches that they put on there breaking down plays and what the QB should have done, the coach done, etc. to me highlighted the "if you are so good at analyzing this why aren't you still playing or coaching"

Yes the redksins did that. Which was and is still unusual to take a QB in round one and then another in round 3.

Taking one in round 3 and one in round 5 is not unheard of.

Yep, and the truth is that most of them aren't sports experts, they're just guys that are good at talking/arguing about sports, and they have professional writers giving them scripts

I've quit watching them all as well. The only thing I'll take time to watch outside of an actual game is TNT's Inside the NBA and sometimes parts of College Game Day.

Same as Steven A, Shannon Sharpe and the rest of the TV sports hacks. Same as political crap. The serve no legitimate purpose other than to get people riled up and arguing over stupid hot takes.

I still watch college game day but enjoy more of the special stories they do or the actual breakdown of the games where they actually highlight players or sides of the ball to watch but ignore much of it when all they talk about is the two conferences and thousand of playoff scenarios from week one.

I used to watch college football final as well for a lot of the same reason, until they changed the people on it and it became nothing more than talk about the top teams/ playoff implications.

I don't know how people can watch the playoff show (watched it I think twice) and realized it was nothing but guessing or more likely pushing the ESPN narrative of who they wanted in the playoffs no matter the records.

I'm actually rooting for Shedeur. Go to work, get coached up, take it one day at a time, act like a pro. But number one, he has to tell his dad to keep his mouth shut and stay out of it.

Someone should let Skip know who was the first pick in this year's draft ...

I'll post again ... playing the Race Card in sports is the single funniest Race Card of all.

Agreed. I think might be exactly what he needs to become a truly great QB ... except that he's still in CLE.

I will never understand drafting two QBs. Basically, the Browns wasted at least one draft pick. Gabriel or Sanders value will only go down from here because one will not play.

He has talent. He's not Day 1 starter like many WBs drafted today. He needs a "Love" situation where he sits a year or two.

He's much better than 5th round talent. I'm don't understand why Raiders or Pittsburgh passed on him after the third round or why Cleveland took he and Gabriel.

One might end up being trade bait if someone needs a new #2 when their starter goes down

cle has a solid team and some top tier coaches, flacco is a great dude to learn from, the rest of the qb room is weak, he could be starting by week 10.......

- el KKM

so he is in perfectly good shape in spite of his father's best efforts.

A guy nobody wanted until the 5th round isn't going to be great trade bait, for whatever reason. If he plays himself into being great trade bait, the Browns probably wouldn't want to trade him.
