The defense got manhandled for two-thirds of the first half...but we expected our D to be our short coming.

The offense having 10 points at half is not ok.

One bright spot...in the first half we only had one penalty for 5 yards.

I think we have the talent, but the mental game just isn't there.

On that I'd agree. Guessing there will be a couple calls like that in the 2nd half. Overall I don't really like Spav's play calling. 3 runs in a row that went nowhere. That was bad.

Agree. Late season Sawyer had become adept at quick progressions and it showed against a much tougher LSU defense than what I see on the field for Auburn. Except for the one drive, he's look somewhat slow in his field vision although Auburn has had a part in that.

cant believe how bad the play calling in the red zone has been...hand-offs up the middle every time when we aren't getting any push. it could be 21-17 right now with some more creativity and execution. We are clearly outmatched in the trenches...put in a TE as a lead blocker or something. Run a read option where Sawyer keeps it. run something to the edge and use our speed. But no, vanilla handoff up the middle EVERYTIME.

Coming into this game I was worried about our safeties issue and getting beat over the top… they've hardly taken any shots deep. They haven't needed to.

Exactly. We're not gonna play many more physical teams than the one we're playing tonight so it gives a good flavor of what we need to do at the earliest point in the season to get better. Not sure beating up on someone like a LIU or Incarnate Word does that.
